Copper head I'm pretty sure. Get him to the ER!

Juvenile cottonmouth. I used to think those were copperheads too before this board set me straight.
How’s your friend doing?

Correction, Late Friend!
Not really. Get attention he needs, and he’ll feel like shite, but be fine. I know a guy that was push mowing and hit some coppperheads. Bit over 15 times and was fine. His legs swole and he was sick sumbitch for few days, but no lasting effects, unless being a dumb arse still counts!

Man y’all sure that’s a juvenile cottonmouth and not a copperhead? That ain’t Hershey kisses on there to y’all? I can’t tell color of tail. I’ve worked a few copperhead bites and most were dry
Eta: yea y’all right I think, looks like bands not Hershey kisses marks.

She was bitten on the finger. Hand swollen about half way up the hand. Six vials of antivenom being given now. She's not sick. No breathing problems.

He will live. It'll suck.
No reason to panic-panic. Just get him to a hospital.
Be sure they see it's a juvenile snake. They tend to pack a worse bite on average, as I've always heard.
Keep his heart rate under control. Don't mess with the bite wound by sucking the poison out or using a tourniquet. Just get him to the hospital.

I'm late to the party with my above post. Nice! Looks like she's in good shape, then. Well done! Hell of a story.

Six vials of antivenom being given now
as an aside, was always told to kill the snake and take a picture or the carcass to the ER so they can administer the right stuff, good on ya OP

I would be curious to see what the hand looks like. Is it wrong to ask for a picture of the hand?
