If Jayden comes back next year watch out. The whole oline will return and the running backs and the receivers (except Boutte and Jenkins). But it will be the Brian Thomas show. Brian Thomas is special.

It will never be any of the WRs “show” as long as Daniels is the QB. He’s just not refined enough as a passer to showcase our talent.

You're right because players never develop from one year to the next. The fact that JD has a new team, new staff, new playbook and new receivers doesn't affect his ability to reach his full potential.

Re-watched the game and Daniels is 100% effort but damn he can't read the field or throw a catchable ball. Easy 8yd passes or out patterns but anything down the field is non-existent. Love his fire and he can give aggressive defenses problems because his speed but a passing QB, he is not.

I think he is getting there. He seems afraid to throw a pick.

It’s like horse riding or bar fighting. Until you get thrown or punched in the face, you are excessively conservative. Then it happens and you realize it didn’t kill you. You are a lot looser afterwards.

He really needs to throw his first pick Saturday. Get it out of the way before having to go to JH and especially the Tenn game.

Go back and watch 2018 Joe Burrow and compare it to 2019. Year two for Jayden would be great. Plus I like how our offense this year is developing. We are showcasing his legs and how much he can kill your defense. When Jayden develops his passing the teams on the back half of the schedule will be more worried about his legs. Then the Boutte show will begin. Then headed into next year Jayden will be a TRUE dual threat QB like Joe was.

The difference though is that 2018 was the first year Burrow ever started QB and we also ran a pretty conservative offense until the last game or 2. Jayden has already started 2 1/2 seasons at this point. I too hope he progresses into a better passer in terms of reading his progressions but he may be what he is at this point.

Nope. He's not remotely close to Burrow and never will be.

Daniels has a ceiling as a passer and there is some more room but it doesn't seem like a lot. I am not sure how much room he has to grow from junior to senior year at this point you have it or you don't.

He was a Heisman contender and a very good passer his freshman year. And he's an even better runner this year. If he can bring all that together, he could legitimately win the Heisman.

True, but even his short passes aren't precise. Too often backs have to turn to their backside to catch the ball, robbing them of momentum. His TD pass to Jaray made Jenkins stop to make the catch.

On that 4th down pass to Malik, he overthrew Nabers by almost 10 yards.

Those are things that don't improve during the season. Those take off-season work and repetition.

We may just be like that Auburn team a few years ago that had a WR at QB the whole season. As long as the defense continues to improve, we should do OK.

Would still love to see a serviceable running game, though.

we would all love to see Mr. Daniels become an elite passer.

He will certainly be more effective with better protection.

we can win a lot of games.

He is not a pocket passer. he's a dual threat. He is what he is.

RBs will struggle at running the ball if we cant stretch the field at all with deep to midrange completions!
