Calling All OT Baseball Memorabilia Experts

My wife’s uncle died and we were recently helping her elderly aunt plan for an estate sale as she will be moving in with other family. I ran across this signed baseball of the 1951 Yankees.
Any OT Memorabilia experts that can tell me if it’s real? The man did live in New York at the right time before moving to Arkansas. The guy really wasn’t a big baseball fan. I found this in the bottom of an old trunk full of hats/boots/clothes.
I have to say the 1951 Yanks printed on the ball just looks out of place.

That’s gonna be worth a pretty penny. Get the signatures verified somehow.

Antiquetiger will give you $11 for it

I think it looks legit. Imagine it was likely a kid who wrote the yanks part. I'm sure you can get it authenticated.

Looks like an early micky mantle not later style.

Yogi had a changing signature too but his y and g were constant.

Where on the ball is DiMaggio? Hopefully it’s not the faded signature 2 above The Mick.

Fred Sanford was on the 51 Yankees roster.

Let your son go play with it in a vacant lot with his buddies while your away on business.

More than likely it's legitimate. I've seen other balls like that at an old baseball coach's home signed by teams from the 40s and 50s. Looked exactly like that. The "1951 Yanks" part was probably done by the person given the ball. People, especially kids didn't think much of writing on memorabilia like that back then.

I hope you get rich off your wife’s dead uncle.

PSA does auto authentication.

Looks like it could be legit. Signatures can change over time, and signatures on balls can also be much different from on paper.
Whatever you do, DO NOT TRY TO CLEAN IT or do anything else to it.
I will give you 350 for it.

You guys are getting my hopes up this little jewel is legit. I’m not seeing DiMaggio though. I’m guessing that cuts deep into the value.

It is worth approximately $1 million even.

My grandfather had a ball signed by all the Yankees from that era. Turns out they were mechanical signatures, not actually signed by actual players. Apparently they sold a lot of those balls back then.

Then sell it for $50 on eBay with some used socks thrown in as lagniappe.
