Spot on on the analysis.

The thing with Daniels is that his legs are much more reliable than his arm. It stinks for our talented receivers, but Daniels is most effective when he’s running. Even when he does pass it, most of his passes are off target enough to make the receivers adjust, or late, both of which limit their yards after the catch. He frequently chooses the most well covered receivers. I think it’s his predetermined receiver, and he either tries to fit it in or tucks it and runs. It has worked, but some teams will put a couple of spies on him in the future to stop it. That should leave someone open, but smart teams will make him beat the with his arm. His lack of vision and accuracy will thwart most drives if the spies do their job.

Jay Ward was the best player in the field last night.

Yes, yes, and yes. He gets easily rattled after a simple missed pass and then starts forcing the ball. Also, he gets rattled if the play clock is below 15 seconds or so. Even the announcers were noticing that one.

At this point, just catching the punt is a win for this team, and Clayton seems to do that well. Not sure if Greg Clayton can do anymore than that, but catching it at the 5 was a no no. Hopefully that'll be a teaching lesson for him.

yes, his field vision is terrible. We need to accept it for what it is and incorporate his running ability more into the offense to have it cost us fewer games. It's a shame because the WR room is so loaded. But they can be incorporated into that too. Say hello to the Canada offense. Seriously, that with some read-option is what we should be running with JD.

with Maason out- yes. His best play last night isn't on any stat sheet. He put his hand up cutting off a throwback across the body (which RogersIII is perfectly capable of doing) that cut that throw off; there was a MSU WR who was wide open and probably would have scored. You see DTs put hands up when they get stymied at the LoS, but to do that when you are the one running the QB out of bounds is the most heads up thing I've seen in a long time. Maybe he should coach the ST's. And then, everything you said.

I'm impressed with DBs, including CBs. They're getting completions on them deep. But not wide open. They cover very well, they just haven't been able to defend the passes.

Only thing I can point out from your post is they moved Ward to Nickel back, and he absolutely shined as you said. Kid is special in that spot.
