Dallas/Ft Worth Things to Do (Trip Report/Pics Page 2)

Currently in Denton for my grandma's funeral tomorrow morning and am looking for things to do on Thursday/Friday to take my mind off things. Will drop off my sister at Love Field Thursday morning then have nothing planned the rest of the day before heading to Ft Worth til Saturday.
Anything to do in Dallas or Ft Worth on Thursday? Golfing Friday morning at Waterchase but will also have time to kill before my friends off work in Friday afternoon. Thanks for the suggestions

What types of things do you like to do?

Aquariums, museums, presidential libraries, sporting events, walking around exploring, pretty much anything
. I haven't been to the grassy knoll, anything around there? Ideally don't want to spend the whole day drinking, but a late afternoon bar or brewery near ft worth might work? I've been to the stockyards before so could do that for a few hours but was just there in may after my grandpa's funeral.

The Fort Worth Zoo is very good.

The Perot Museum would be a good one to start with and then go from there. La Ventana/Meso Maya is just up the street from there would be a great for lunch/dinner.
There are several breweries in Ft Worth, Wild Acre, Rahr and Sons and Martin House are some of the bigger one. Tim Love just opened a few new restaurants in Mule Ally that everyone is raving about. I haven't been so I can't speak to the quality of those place. Also, it should be good few days to do some patio drinking as it's not 100 degrees any more.
Also, condolences to your family.

George W. Bush Library is at SMU.

As mentioned the Bush library @ SMU and Perot museum are great. The Perot is relatively close the the JFK stuff but it will take a lot of time to see most of the stuff.
There is an aviation museum on Love Field. If it is lunchtime I suggest Campisi’s on Mockingbird although not that close to the airport. It is a throwback to old Dallas with great pizza and great stories of past clientele

Dallas World Aquarium downtown. Dallas Museum of Art is free for the permanent collection. Crow Museum of Asian Art is also free. Nasher Sculpture Garden is nice, but not free. All are a 5 minute walk from each other. Then you could check out Klyde Warren Park over the freeway and just behind the art museums. For beer, you could walk over to AT&T Discover District Plaza downtown and hit Jaxson Beer Garden or Pegasus Brewery, although their stuff is average. Celestial Brewing is the best beer in Dallas proper and Manhattan Project is really good too. I could be talked into meeting you at one of those Thursday or Friday afternoon.

Perot museum and bush library sound like winners (I'm a science nerd and both museums open right after airport dropoff) then meeting at celestial Thursday afternoon for a beer. Appreciate the suggestions everyone
Friday I'll use the ft worth suggestions as I'll be over that way

Definitely hit up the JFK museum or the Bush library.
I did not care for the Perot. I thought it was geared more toward kids.
Love Field is on Mockingbird Lane. SMU and the Bush Library is a straight shot east from there. I recommend the Meadows Museum on campus which is largest collection of Spanish art outside of Spain.

When we were in Dallas, I took my kids to the National Video Game Museum and they loved it. If your into old video games/nostalgia it'd be a good way to kill couple of hours (wasn't very expensive).

If you want something close to the airport, Heim has great BBQ and is right across from Love Field.

A few weeks ago I was there for a few hours and me and a buddy did lunch at Hard Eight BBQ followed by go cart racing at Andretti. Good way to kill a few hours.

Did the George W Bush Library and walked around SMU so far, just sat down at Campisi's for lunch since it was 5 min away. Heading to Perot museum after I'm done here then to Celestial Beerworks. Will post pics later today or tomorrow
