I’ll never forget the tragic events of this day or all the feelings that I felt. It was like a bad dream. Feelings of sadness, anger, helplessness, and etc. It was the first time I truly experienced patriotism and understood what it meant. It was then I realized and saw the unity of our country’s finest and citizens came together as one. Ole Glory seemed to wave stronger. The colors of the Red, White, and Blue seemed brighter. Politics took a step backwards. There was no Democrats or Republicans that day. Everyone belonged to the same party….the party of the USA!!!

It sort of feels like the ideology that caused 9/11 is dead, but is it really?

Not that I want a tragic event to happen, but I wish we could get back to this.

I feel like this year is the least I’ve heard about the anniversary. Maybe because of the Queen’s death and all of the political fights going on here it’s just been overshadowed, though it shouldn’t be.

I try to ignore this day every year. I had friends who lost family in the attacks. I could see/smell the smoke for a week afterwards. Seeing the cars parked in the parking garage knowing they were never going home with their owner again was somewhat heartbreaking.

My dad and some of my friends parents watched people jumping from the towers from where they worked. This is a day we can’t forget but we don’t always have to remember.

Wow!! 21yrs already!!! Will never forget that day, or what I was doing when the media went live, and as the broadcast was going on the second plane hit.

That’s when everyone at my office realized this was something more than a freak accident. The entire room went quiet. Very sobering, and sad at the same time. When the towers started collapsing I remember people crying, and others getting mad as hell.

The POS terrorist would’ve been getting ready to board there planes about now.. God bless all of those that died, the first responders, police, and everyone else that was directly involved or effected by this horrific event.

The tragedy of that day will live on forever in the hearts and minds of patriots and true Americans. But it seems as each year passes we do less and less to pay tribute to those fallen and even less to call out those responsible.

Yea it's ashamed. It's been intentionally ignored by US leadership at the highest levels.

My niece was born on this day. I remember being at the hospital while my sister was in labor with her first child and the rest of the world was glued to the TV’s. Weird feeling that day.

Happy Birthday Amanda!

Welcome to every major historical event in a nutshell. 9/11 was never going to be the exception.

My wife and I were just saying how it seems like it's being forgotten. Not by the ones who saw it unfold, but the younger generations.

When I was in NYC, I visited the 9-11 Museum and it was truly heartbreaking. I was only 12 when the events took place, I was old enough to understand what was happening but young enough that I didn’t understand the emotional impact of that day. Now that I’m father, I can certainly empathized of what the families of the victims went through.

I can never forget. That day, week, month etc was numbing. I lived in Dallas and I recall fighters over the city everyday. The TV was on NY just watching the smoke billow up all day every day. Just a horrible time in America. Work was just going through the motions and everyone was just a zombie.
I went to the memorial a few years ago and it was surreal for me. I still can't watch the footage from that day it makes me rage.

How would they remember something they didn’t experience or were too young to understand?

ETA: obviously they can learn about it but it’s not gonna have the same widespread visceral cultural impact as those that actually remember living that day.

On top of the awfulness of that day. It gave us the patriot act, the never ending money laundering in the Middle East, and the tsa. F that day.

Yeah after 20 plus years of war and reflection on it, OBL got what he wanted.

I never turned on the tv that morning. Just got into my car and off to class. Walton & Johnson were talking about how the Muslims got us, WTC gone. And I’m like “huh, is this a skit?” Switched over to 870am. Damn.
