Why do so many people get butt hurt about others working from home?

Are they envious that some people get to work from home while they have to physically go to work and flip burgers?
The notion that working from home automatically equals “you don’t do shite and have a worthless job” is quite laughable to me.

They’re 100% jealous.
ETA I leave early when I work at my office, and I finish up early when I work from home. No difference except the length of the pants I’m wearing.

not sure I know people who get butt hurt about others working from home. And full disclosure, I don't work home and honestly hate it when I have to get things done remotely.
ETA: and judging by the downvotes, it appears a lot of remote workers want validation others hate them for being remote workers. Sorry, no one cares. It's 2022, a lot of people work remotely.

If you can work from home someone in India can do your job.
You may not believe this statement but many corporate leaders do believe it.

I hate working at home, for what it's worth. I'd never leave my position (and my position is 'officially' virtual) but I'd definitely prefer to be in the office

I've seen it on here more than once, but never in real life.
I love being able to work from home a few days a week if I have no in-person meetings. I get the same accomplished either way.

None of my coworkers flip burgers. Most of us have advanced degrees.
And yeah, people who work from home can be prone to be slack. Lots of people in the office are slack as well, but I'd rather be slack at home versus coming into the office. But I like coming into the office. I only worked from home a few times since Covid happened. I like being around people and I feel like I'm at work when I'm actually at work.
Honestly, people are people. People don't like to feel like someone else in a similar position has a better situation than they do. Same thing would happen if two accountants at the same level are doing similar jobs, and one makes $10K more than the other for some reason. It may be a form of jealousy, but not quite. One of the hardest aspect of managing an office is managing personalities.

Being forced into an office effects people working from home.
People working from home does not effect people working in an office

It’s that simple.
If an employer is against it, they’re just scared of actually having to manage staff.

Learn the difference between "affect" and "effect".

Why'd you change it?

Nailed it. Working from home takes many forms. There can still be in person collaboration when necessary and I’m still not comfortable hiring someone that I can’t meet in person. So nope on India for me at this time.
