Idiots who place private phone calls on speaker in public places

I'm waiting for the SO to come out of day surgery yesterday. Some old bag in the waiting room calls some doctor's office on her cell phone - with the call on speaker at high volume.
She talks about some medicine causing her to vomit all the time and expresses concern about getting diarrhea. The loud conversation went out for five minutes or so.
I never understand why people want to broadcast their personal business publicly.
There was only two other people in the waiting room - a hard of hearing guy and a young woman who looked at me and rolled her eyes.

people are completely losing their social skills and being considerate. it was gradually getting bad but lockdowns accelerated it.

I'm annoyed when strangers do it but I'm beyond mortified (like want to melt into the floor and die) if anyone in my group does it in my presence.
Talking to anyone that puts me on speakerphone makes me irrationally angry too.

After the offending call ended, I thought about pretending to make a call to loudly discuss something highly offensive (hemorrhoids, spray diarrhea, draining genital warts) but I'm not sure the woman would have understood what I was doing.

Probably hard of hearing "old bag" and the only way she can hear the phone clearly. And most old women were not indoctrinated to follow the rules of today, rather the rules of yesteryear.
You can always walk away out of hearing range if it offends you so much.
BTW, if no one has ever told you ...
Women will talk about the most disgusting health issues plainly and openly. Get them in a group and you will hear non-stop about menstrual issues, gastric issues, bowel issues, etc..
