I prefer to just come her to read the comments to pass the time, but has college experience in this area so I feel I have to point a few things out.

First off alignment is different from the Clemson past game because the holder is setup at 7 yards from the ball instead of 8. Both distances are used with the differences being at 7 it is harder for the outside guy to get to the ball because of the angle but you are more susceptible to blocks up the middle (especially when the ball is not kicked right). At 8 you have to setup wider because the outside guy has the easier angle to get to the ball.

Second issue. Not sure about the first block but if you watch the review of the second block the kicker clearly catches the ground about a 1 foot behind the ball. When that happen your going to contact the ball hight, which in turn, the ball comes off low which will be much easier to block (especially when you are setup at 7 yards away), not saying the blocking was perfect but the ball was low.

Also as for the punt muffs. While it is frustrating I will point out that on both muffed punts the Florida State punter was doing the rugby style kick which come off end over end. All the practice from the our punters and the juggs machine will not prepare you for this (even kickoff are difference because they rotate the opposite way). Considering Florida State played last week it should have been picked up by the coaching staff so they could have worked on it this week.

left side had to block 5, right had to block 3. Someone needs to see this before the snap.

Taylor is young.

He tried to block both guys instead of sticking to the inside.

Should've had mashburn in their or another upperclassmen.

Snap to kick time was slow also. Also, if you watch our crappy punt at end, there was NO ONE to punters left if he wanted to run. Shame

Verse said his block came with ease.

"They just let me through," Verse said. "I don't know what they were doing."

That block altered LSU's approach to blocking it up on the later extra-point attempt, according to Verse.

"Most definitely. They weren't doing that on any of their film," Verse said before listing off the variety of film they dived into to prepare for the unknowns of LSU. "I feel like on that last one they got scared of what we were doing upfront, so they brought everybody inside.

"They tightened down the splits because we kept getting back there as a d-line, so they tightened it down a lot. I had three dudes on me. I knew the second, all three came at me that somebody is taking this. Somebody is taking this," Verse added.

Kelly mentioned they shifted personnel on the line, 82 was on the right for the first one, 85 was on the right for the second and the blocked one

but 86 was on the left for the first and second PAT as well, but FSU wasn't as keen on blocking those

86 looked really lazy coming off the line on the blocked PAT as well as picked the complete wrong man to block

You only shift players (on the field goal unit) when you are kicking on one hash or the other, and it is up to the holder make that call after seeing if they are unbalanced. If you start shifting based on their alignment when you are in the middle of the field, they can adjust after you get set and it creates more problems.

If they start to overload one side when you are not on a hash our solution was to run a fake on the weak side.

On the blocked FG it looked like the lineman (Can't see his number) never came out of his stance on the snap and the dude just ran through, like what the frick

Or, if you just don't massively frick up a simple blocking scheme that has been done the same way for fifty plus years and assuming the kicker doesn't whiff by trying something silly like a half step approach
then why do punters alter their steps and kick quickly when they know the defense is coming after a punt?

You do realize there's more than one way to actually kick a FG? Every kick (whether from 20 yards or 50 yards) doesn't have to be exactly the same. Some slight alteration may actually work better.

Very poor coaching

I highly doubt they were coached to be in that position.

100%. CBK had better get his dog and pony show together in a big damn hurry. That was inexcusable.

One thing I just noticed - where is Mashburn? He was our best blocker last year and they have a true freshman on the wing instead?
