LIVONIA, La. (WAFB) - Two juveniles have been taken into custody following a fight at Livonia High School that sent one student to a hospital bleeding with a laceration to the head, sources confirm to WAFB.
Photos and a video sent to WAFB appear to show a large amount of blood on the floor of a classroom at the school.
The fight led to a brief lockdown of the school around 8 a.m. Thursday. Because of the fight, Livonia High School will be closed on Friday, September 2.
Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux said it was unclear whether the student who was injured was stabbed or not. The school is in the sheriff’s department jurisdiction.
“As of right now, we still have not recovered any weapon to say that there was a stabbing. However, it is still under investigation,” said Sheriff Thibodeaux.
“With an abundance of caution and talking with the school board, they’ve made the decision to close school tomorrow until further investigation,” added Thibodeaux.
Now that’s how you get a 4 day weekend with Labor Day!

Are these brawl videos going to be scrubbed like the "LSU Honor Brawl" videos?

What are the demographics of Livonia like? Was it Cajuns fighting or cultures?

Louisiana teachers will cancel school if the wind blows from a different direction than the previous day. It's a total joke now.

Thankfully tickets still being written on 190 for 35.5 in a 35.

Someone needs to drum up a bad weather prediction for Tuesday and get another day off

agreed.
I'd like to read an article one day where a spokesman says "we're using caution, but what we feel is just the right amount. Not an overabundant amount, or too little. It's a proper amount of caution"

Teachers do not have the power to cancel school, and are never even in the loop when discussions are held on the matter.

Not many Cajuns are left since they incorporated Pointe Coupee Central there. Culture has taken over and a once nice community school will be known for the vile stain that culture tends to leave behind.

If they cancelled school for every time they had a fight with blood when I was in HS.. I'd say.. On average, we would have had school cancelled... I'd say every two weeks.

Damn so they’re canceling school now for fights? When I was in high school, anytime a fight would happen, they’d yell at us observers to get our asses back to class! And that was always the end of it.

In videos provided to Unfiltered with Kiran, there was blood on the ground and parents said “brass knuckles” were used during the fight. But the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office said they did not find any weapons as of yet.
The school was placed on a “soft lockdown” during the investigation.
Livonia Police said the students involved have all been removed from the campus. As of now, no arrests have been made.
