First time LA CCP applicant question

How long after your application is accepted and you make the payment do you typically receive your permit?
My application only took 6 days total to get accepted and that included the online process for forms and the mailing of the fingerprint cards. I heard it takes on average a month. Is this now the waiting time? I was pleasantly surprised that the initial piece didn’t take long at all.

I've been putting this off forever thinking it's difficult/time consuming.
Specifically, the part on submitting certified copies of arrest dispositions... Got a DUI in college (10 yrs ago) and did an article 894, otherwise my record is clean

In the past it was much better to go to the state police headquarters and get digital fingerprints than sending paper. Like manymonths difference in processing time. Not sure if that is still the case

My renewal last year was almost 60 days in and I called LSP to check on it. Abut an hour after I called I got an email saying I was approved. Not a coincidence.

The guy that did our gun class said that happens all the time. You reach out and it magically shows up the next day

My initial several years ago took about 300 days. My more recent renewal came back in a couple of weeks.

Just got my renewal in a few months ago.
Took 5 weeks turn around.
My lifetime hunting/fishing license just took 9 weeks.

Mine took about 3 weeks, start to finish, but I went to LSP Headquarters for fingerprinting.

I took the class on a Saturday and submitted my application the same day online, got finger printed in Baton Rouge that Wednesday, was approved on Thursday and had my permit in hand the following Monday. Younger brother and dad had similar experiences around the same time.

Seriously - all of my students have been reporting a waiting period of 5-7 calendar days after submitting the application online.(Obviously this was different/slower during the first 12-18 months of the pandemic).

Renewal took 2 maybe three weeks after I sent in all paperwork. Did all my paperwork online and scanned and uploaded notarized forms and recurrent training class docs. This was last month. Faster than I ever expected. First time filing seems like it took 3 months maybe...was many years ago.

Normally notarized forms aren't required for online renewals (unless you had to submit some divorce/court documents or something like that).
People who submit paper applications do have to submit notarized forms.
P.S. I just renewed my permit. Submitted application online last Monday (August 29th) and received new permit in my mailbox Friday (September 2nd).
Four-day turnaround is the fastest since I started carrying (back in '96 or '97 -- whenever the CCW Act was signed by Mike Foster).
