Late to this thread. I hope these aren’t repetitive.
Most Perfect:
Burning the village in Platoon while with the pathetic irony of Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings playing.
Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Chorus
Runner Up:
Brian Patrick Lyndon’s funeral procession in Barry Lyndon. The scene and music, Sarabande, 4th movement by George Frideric Handel, are perfectly mated leaving the audience to weep silently for the tragic, untimely, and inexplicable death of a child.
Most Perfect:

One of the better known contemporary composers to use the Agnus Dei is Samuel Barber (1910–1981). In 1967, the American composer arranged the Latin words to his most famous work, "Adagio for Strings" (1938). It was written for an eight-part chorus and retains that mournful, spiritual character of the orchestral work. As with Bach's composition, it is a very moving piece of music.
Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Chorus
quote:
Agnus Dei, qui tolis peccata mundi,
Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world,
miserere nobis.
have mercy upon us.
Agnus Dei, qui tolis peccata mundi,
Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world,
dona nobis pacem.
grant us thy peace.

Personally I don’t think that Wes Anderson has ever missed badly on how music is used in his films. My favorite of his is probably “Alone Again Or” by Love in the movie “Bottle Rocket.”
“Sounds of Silence” in “The Graduate”
“Singing in the Rain” in “A Clockwork Orange”
I’m kind of “meh” on both the movie and band but “Colorblind” by The Counting Crows during the escalator scene in “Cruel Intentions” stands out.
From TV I think of Radiohead’s “No Surprises” used as the intro for the first episode of the 6th season of House.

Very obscure, but brings me back to my 5th grade self sitting in the Paramount Theater in Alexandria...
Bennie and the Jets for the opening scene of Aloha Bobby and Rose
The opening scene was certainly the best of the entire flick.

James Gunn does a heckuva job on selecting the sound track and song placement in both GOTG movies, but best for me is Forrest Gump.
