Stacey Abrams claims Bible supports abortion

“I was trained to read and understand the Bible, and I will tell you this: There is nothing about the decision to eliminate access to abortion care that is grounded in anything other than cruelty and meanness and danger in the state of Georgia,” she told the church. “Nothing.”
As the daughter of two pastors, Abrams said she has a “strong moral core” and a good understanding of scripture.
What a piece of human garbage.

What’s bigger, the gap in her biblical knowledge or the one between her teeth?

Where does the bible discuss abortion?

Homosexuality is CLEARLY called an abomination at least twice in the Bible.
Let's go with that.
Let's go with that.

Beware those who would call evil good and good evil.
Stacey! You’re in the Bible!
Stacey! You’re in the Bible!

She has a place waiting for her in HELL, and every day spent there will not reduce her eternal punishment by a single day.

Yup and capital punishment...for all of you in Rio Linda, that means "the death penalty"
Gap tooth should also be reminded that The Bible says that we will have false prophets trying to do what she is doing.

and public stonings, polygamy, human sacrifice, etc.

It doesn't which is, I think, her point. SO, I guess she is technically correct.

The Bible also talks about how the ignorant twist scripture to their own destruction. Stacey Abrams should know that plantation owners used to quote scripture to justify the institution of slavery to abolitionists. I'm sure she would disagree with their interpretations.

In that thread about the black pastor getting arrested someone said he wasn’t being Christlike because of his attitude. He was watering his neighbors plants for Gods sake. People fitting the Bible to their narrative is upside down.

Maybe that's the point.
Don't use a book with a magic sky daddy for governance.

The fact that she could say this in a church and not get any pushback is sad. It also tells you what the church, especially the black church has become. The DNC owns them and they are no longer preaching the word of God. Just the words of Obama.

Revelations 22:18 and 19
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

So no abortion in that quote...

Whether the prohibitions on “murder” (the correct translation of most passages from Hebrew or Koine Greek) equates to a prohibition on abortion is ENTIRELY a matter of interpretation, which can be neither objectively correct or incorrect
quote:This part is utter nonsense. There is ABSOLUTELY a good faith interpretation of the text to the effect that abortion is sinful, even if not everyone shares that interpretation.
There is nothing about the decision to eliminate access to abortion care that is grounded in anything other than cruelty and meanness and danger in the state of Georgia
The relevant question is whether public policy should reflect (just one) interpretation of a religious text.
