We are making our first trip also. We are taking our camper and staying at the University RV Park right off campus

Was at the 7-3 game. Great atmosphere. Terrible ending. Never seen so much hard hitting in a game. The campus was a dump then but friends have been more recently and said it is really nice now. Auburn fans were nice for the most part but some drunk students next to our tailgate were going a little over the top with their heckling. Nothing too bad, just annoying. Auburn was a fun trip.

I'm bring my motorhome and jeep and making a long trip out of this... Sugar Land to Auburn, then stay at Gulf Shores during the week, and to BR for the Tennessee game.

I plan to park at the RV lot on Auburn campus. I heard that it's fine, but anyone else park their RV there before?

Our daughter went to Auburn undergrad and is finishing up Grad school there too. Our son is a Jr at LSU. Auburn is a great town and they have a super game day atmosphere. You almost feel like you've gone back to the 70's or 80's in a lot of ways. Great food scene too if you're into it. We're renting a house out on Lake Martin and driving in. Hotels are always tough in Auburn/Opelika.

I live here. as others said, there is a limited number of hotels. montgomery is only 45 minutes away via I85 and is a good second option. If you are outdoorsy and have an RV, I suggest trying the state park in town, Chewacla. I know a lot of folks who have done that in the past.

i suggest acre or amsterdam if you are looking for a non dive atmostphere to eat at (not on gameday).

It was a good atmosphere and Auburn fans were very nice

Appreciate the replies. So far the plan is to fly Nola to ATL on that Friday. Rent a car and drive up to Truist Park for the Braves/Mets game. Got an Airbnb over in the Sharpsburg area near Peachtree city and Newnan. Will head over to auburn early Saturday and try to find somethin good to eat and then start looking for parking. Thanks again for all the good input and tips.

People try to shite on Auburn but I’ve never been around a-hole Auburn fans. Always heard good things about the town and Gameday experience.

It’s at the top of my list for bucket list SEC trips right up there with Athens. I’d be shocked if I don’t love it.

I may have 2 extra bus passes from University RV park. You can park at the RV park and ride to the game on the bus.
