Is revving a Harley Davidson up and down the only way to keep it running at a stop sign?

Is that a design feature of that engine?

Harley riders need more attention than Insta-whores.

supposed to be related with oil circulation but it’s really just motor cycle baws getting psyched up for a mud check

Thank frick, mid-life crisis people in my area buy sports cars instead of pile of shite Harleys.

Well, yes.
Also, they go faster if you have pigtails on the handles.

I have two brothers with Harley’s and they idle only when stopped. Now, there is a little throttle pop, right before kicking it into first gear on the take off. Respectful dudes!

there is a legitimate reason to do it, but thats not why they do it, they do it because they think its cool to be load and obnoxious as possible.
as far as the engines, motorcycle engines only run with around 5 lbs oil pressure, so at idle little to no oil reaches the top to lubricate the camshafts. for this reason its best to bump up the throttle every few seconds at stop lights, so it gets all the oil it needs

Some of them sound like a 30 year old pulp wood truck.

I’ve been giving it serious thought lately of buying a sport bike. I know it’s probably an early mid-life crisis thing, but damn it’s been a hell of an itch I’m craving to scratch.
I’m just a little worried that my body doesn’t seem to recover from trauma as well as it did twenty years ago.

That's a Harley privilege.

Straight pipes are all ok on Harleys it seems but put them on your car and you'll be lucky to make it 3 blocks without getting pulled over around here.
Can hear those pricks all the way across town when they decide to let all 65HP wail.

Last I checked the cams are in the bottom nosecone in Harley Twin Cam engines. Hence the push rod tubes going to the top on the right side of the engine.

Don;t know much about shifting motorcycle transmissions I see... But that's ok... It's not for everybody... Women usually don't operate Harleys.
