I think DeSantis is fantastic and can't wait to vote for the guy as the nominee some day. But I think Carl here makes the case for why it HAS TO be Trump now. Even IF we manage to slam through a different nominee, The Left will know they won a major battle destroying Trump and making him toxic on his own side. They can't win that battle.

There is no way (IMO anyway) that it's NOT Trump. Unless he decides for whatever reason not to run.

I think I agree with Carl. I mean, I was all in on DeSantis this time last week, and I still think he has to be elected President in 2028, but the FBI raid is a game changer. I think I may have to vote for Trump in the primaries.

The left wants Trump to run. It takes the focus off their failures and makes the election another referendum about Trump and not about their disastrous policies.

I had this very same discussion this morning with a NASA director. He agreed that Trump should have won, but the constant witch hunt is disturbing. He said he wants Trump vindicated, but not to run. I told exactly what you said.
