Yeah, I played around with it yesterday and it is a fricking retard. The default response to anything it doesn't know is to change the subject.

Meh. About 15 years ago there was a site where you could create your own AI bot. They could have conversations with people or other bots. Most of the ones I saw there were programmed better than this.
ETA: I tried creating one myself. For all I know it's still out there talking to people. The interesting and challenging part was trying to create enough variations in vocabulary and programming so that a person speaking with it couldn't tell it was a bot.
