James Taylor might have a great voice but his 2016 Baton Rouge concert was far and away the most boring thing I’ve ever attended in my entire life. A total snooze fest and most of the crowd had left by the end of it
Can confirm. That concert was terrible. Zero energy. Everyone knew it too. Packed at the start and maybe 25% full for the encore.

These, as mentioned, come to mind:
Christopher Cross
James Ingram
Barry White
Marvin Gaye
George Michael (post 2000)

Well, his 2019 concert in BR with Bonnie Raitt was outstanding.

I've never been to an arena concert where the place was empty before the end.

Nat King Cole. JT was such a fine, fine songwriter at such a young age. Fire and Rain was written when he was barely out of his teens.
Think how mature you weren't at 20.

I mean, James Taylor, you pretty much know what you're getting before walking in the door. Not sure why people would leave early.

I would love to see JT at the Manship Theatre. Of course that’s not going to happen, but it would be a great place to see him.

I’ll admit I’m a huge fan, but I saw Taylor and Jackson Browne in Memphis last year, and it was the best concert I’ve never been to.

Bill Withers would be my pick.

And Bill Medley (Righteous Brothers) has to be in the mix somewhere.

JT is smooth alright. I would put Fogelberg right up there too.

His songs are boring. There’s nothing fun or interesting about James Taylor. Even his name is mundane.

This. One of my favorite voices of any genre ever. Levi Stubbs from The Four Tops sang with a lot of grit but his clean voice on Baby I Need Your Loving is like butter

Seen him live a couple of times, His Band is stupid silly talented... I was surprised at how engaging and funny his stories were. I've seen a lot of old timers mail it in... I heard Clapton was the worst.

He's about to turn 74. Happens to all of us, if we're lucky.
