Holy shite, you got one right!
I've been saying this all along.
One of the problems with Libertarians is their insistence upon being a viable National 3rd Party without having built enough at the local levels.

If a third party has any chance of succeeding it needs to start at the local or state level. For example, people in this state getting tired of eating nothing but shite sandwiches and suddenly for no reason at all elect the "Louisiana First Party" into power.

I think we are already seeing a third party. The GOP is already divided into two separate parties. Those that support Trump and people like MTG, and those that don't support them. It's going to continue to give the Dems a leg up in future races, but the Dems will try and frick it up by choosing the worst candidates to run.

thus far the candidates at the local and national level of such attempts at a major 3rd party emerging all seem to wear clown shoes. It is the rare occurrence when one of their candidates is running for any reason other than to have their name in the news.

More like 3 or 4
You have the establishment
the "New Right" which is socially libertarian and pretty much in the center as far as economics go and called Barstool conservatism
The old Tea Party - libertarian wing
The populist right which is people like Blake Masters and also called the New Right sometimes

In reality: I doubt we can. The powers in DC and their lapdog propaganda machine have made it very clear that if you threaten their power they will destroy you and everyone you love and care about. And over half this country is giddy when they do it.

America First party. Would attract most of Trump supporters. Count me in and get rid of the RINOs
Sadly, it would also guarantee a Dem victory

Louisiana is one of 3/4 states that actually have a chance of this, due to the jungle primary.

Why? People act like there would be some requirement to not vote for good legislation, or to not fight bad legislation. The only thing it would do is give us the ability to tell Republicans to piss up a rope when they support marxist democrat policy, and to forget any agenda items we didn't agree with.

I believe he’s talking about elections themselves, not voting on legislation once third parties are hypothetically in congress.
He’s right on that point. Splitting any portion of the GOP vote will automatically elect Democrats in most competitive seats/races.

So, when there is an America First Candidate in a particular race, Republicans have the choice of voting for that candidate, or letting the democrats have the seat. Maybe the American people would finally learn that the Republican Party is in fact controlled opposition.

nope no chance as the 2 parties will keep it from happening from keeping $$$$ away from them.

So if your solution is simply for all Republican voters to just get over the GOP and vote America first, how exactly would that change the current dichotomy?
You’d still have two viable parties if the AF party purged all GOP voters.

Wrong, the ghost of Huey P. Long still has at least a partial hold on elections. Louisiana is still one of the more payola friendly states. Each region has its own payola wants.
BTW, privatization of state services only means less into retirement fund, but not cut in actual cost. It is an accounting gimmick more than anything else. A lot of small business, especially in Baton Rouge would shrivel and die without that state government tit.

You aren't going to get rid of the republican party in all blue or purple areas. Just isn't going to happen. So you'd have the AF Party in conservative areas, the the Republican Party in squishy areas, and marxist democrats in the blue areas. The big difference being that the AF party actually promotes and implements conservative, America first policy and philosophy, while Republicans would have to actually oppose the marxist democrat agenda if they wanted legislative support, and money from conservative voters.
But like I said earlier, that ship sailed, and the only possible leader for that movement turned his back on it.

I'm starting to think we need a zero political party system. Any political party that goes up against the two major ones we have now will eventually have to corrupt itself to the same extent the present ones are to defeat them and that doesn't solve the problem.

We get the government we vote for. We have entirely too many "Americans" who don't believe in the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and capitalism. We aren't going to fix it with words, votes, and certainly not with politicians or political parties.

You do realize that would be a white ethno-state though, right?
Kinda like the original 13 colonies. I mean, I'm ok with it. Just making sure you're OK with it.

You do realize that not every minority buys into marxist democrat bullshite, and more are seeing the light every day, right?
