Flying out earlier Saturday morning so staying near Hobby Airport Friday night. We won't get to the area until around 8pm or so on Friday night. Any good dinner suggestions in that specific area?

Edited to add: Will be driving over from Lafayette so dinner suggestions along the drive are welcome as well.

That significantly changes things...you could stop somewhere EaDo, Downtown, Midtown, Montrose, Heights-ish on your way down I45....what type of food is in your wheel house?

Open to anything. Something fairly casual/quick.

The area around Hobby is a wasteland.

The POST food hall, pretty easy off/on I10/I45 in Downtown...lots of options here.

POST

The Pit Room for BBQ or their sister restaurant next door Candente for Tex Mex....both are not too far off the beaten path.

The Pit Room

Candente

The thread from Sunday/yesterday about eats near Minute Maid could also be useful to you.

Otherwise if you wait until you're near Hobby your options are fast food, random taquerias, or a Pappas family restaurant.

I have been to Pit Room a couple of times now but always at lunch. It's very good. Do they usually run out of BBQ during the day? I've never been there for dinner and we might not make it there until 8pm or so.

I wouldn't think, but they do close at 9 PM.

J-Bar-M could be another option on the way down if you're interested in BBQ.

Killens BBQ in Pearland. Not too far from Hobby.

For the drive over could look at Floyd's (Beaumont and a newer one in Mont Belvieu, MM800).

If you look at a map, there's a Ninfas pretty close by, off the Freeway. I know I've passed it on the way there.

Is that considered a no-go for most Houston folks?

7 1/2 miles. Is there a top shelf BBQ joint closer to Hobby? Honest question.
