Never seen anyone despise thier customers as much as Pocorello's. Not going to miss them or Fleur de Lis either.

Completely agree. Both had weird groupies too that would always hang around and act like local royalty because they ate in the same dumpster three times per week.

The table of groupies that always sat near the counter at Poccorello's was always bizarre to me.

the guy just seemed like a no bullshite kind of guy. Great meatball sub, amongst other sandwiches, just no bull shite.

I loved their meatball sandwich as much as anyone, but I quit going because Pokey just made it uncomfortable to eat lunch with his ranting. I get that there’s an old school, “neighborhood” charm to engaging your customers in a no holds barred kinda way, but it’s just not the way I like to eat lunch. That being said I’m really bummed to hear they’re closing down, and that Pokey and his wife are ill. That all sucks. Definitely a part of BR going away.

The first time I went in there was to order a hoagie because I saw it on the menu. When I ordered, he seemed surprised and said, "A hoagie? What do you know about hoagies?" When I told him I was from Pittsburgh, his tone suddenly changed and he started asking me a bunch of questions about the area I was from, etc. Not sure if he had some sort of connection to Pittsburgh but after that I never experienced any issues with him.

I thought this was a joke be when I went to The Vineyard I stopped by and looked in...and its true.

First The Hawk's Nest, then Fleur-de-lis, now Poccorello's.

I'm glad I know how to cook.
