Mondo is going to kick the shite out of whatever poor sap America puts out there.

At least he can compete without stupid USA qualifying rules
How many times does rain or weather impact events held in Oregon and USA trials come down one mistake that wipes out years of training even thought you’ve already proven you are best in world

He didn't have to attend LSU, he could have gone pro right after high school. But he wanted to experience the LSU college experience with his brother, a starter on LSU's baseball team. The family had a home in Lafayette, as well in his mother's Sweden. He had been spending summers in Sweden while growing up, with his mother's family.

Best example is to think back to the '92 Olympic trials when Dan & Dave were all the nation could talk about.
It was ridiculously hot in NOLA for the trials & both had TERRIBLE showings, by comparison to what they had been showing in previous events.

That would be South Dakota's Chris Nilsen who has been Duplantis main rival and always ends up finishing second to Duplantis. If not for Duplantis you would all be talking about Nilsen and all the gold medals and world championships he's won. Bad timing his career has been overshadowed by one guy who is going higher than anybody in history.

He’s finished outside of 1st three times the last 3 years in international events, his worst finish being 4th and the last time over a year ago. I don’t think he would had any worries about qualifying. It’s not like they get one attempt like, for instance, a sprinter tripping in a final to qualify.
