So, who's the better coach, Saban or Miles?

I'm a female and have to say that I might not know football as well as most of you. I think I am okay though. I went to LSU for school and am still connected with the university. I watched some good football when saban was the coach and he turned it around. I think since his specialty was defense, he was a better defensive coach than Miles is. But Miles is an offensive guy and loves the high scoring. I have to say he trumps Coach Saban there. So, it's a tossup when you look at both phases of the game. What's more important and vital to you is likely who you pick.
Me? I am an offensive minded kinda gal. I pick Miles!

ha ha! Why is that? The OT a bunch of horn dogs or something? And I will show you pics when I feel like the time is right. But I tink I'm a cutie. Why don't you answer my question? It's a good one!

both great coaches, completely different styles. Miles is a better all-around person than Saban. Saban used to have someone on staff who was responsible for keeping his wife away from him at parties, true story.
That said, both great coaches. Saban is a better "builder" than Miles, although Saban is not a very good "maintainer" as the wheels were about to come off internally at both programs that he previously left (Mich St. and LSU). Miles, while he did kind of "build" Okie State, seems to be better at maintaining a power program than Saban has proven to be (although that's hard to say because Saban left his two previous programs right before the shite was about to hit the fan with players leaving the program, etc.) Part of that also has to do with the fragile relationships that Saban has with his assistant coaches and an inability to have consistency on his coaching staff because of that.
I'm glad Saban came to LSU when he did, but I'm glad that Miles came to LSU when he did. We, as LSU fans, have gotten extremely "lucky" with the strengths of the two coaches and timing of them coming to LSU.
If you want to look at nuts and bolts, though, Miles is probably the best coach in the country when it comes to second half adjustments. Saban, on the other hand, is terrible at second half adjustments because of his reluctance to stray from "the plan."

Well, I'm not familiar with Miles's body of work, because I stopped following LSU when Saban left, but from seeing him coach at Oklahoma State, I'm confident Saban is better.

Defense approach – big advantage Saban
Offense approach – big advantage Miles
Recruiting – ‘bout even. Maybe slight advantage to Miles.
Chemistry – huge, huge advantage to Miles (just consider all of the people who left early that probably should’ve stayed under Nick versus all those who could have left early under Miles but stayed). Les builds better team chemistry than anyone with the possible exception of Pete Carroll.

Also, Saban was a hottie for a 50 year old coach. I can imagine that many a female made a pass. Do you guys think he cheated on his wife? God, I hope not! Terri was such a sweetheart. I had dinner with them on two occasions and they were both great people!

Miles took a program that isn't even the top program in it's own state and made OSU into a winner. Hell, he even knocked of the aforementioned "best program in the state" a couple times while there (and that's when Oklahoma used to win big games).
