Bucket list so price is not an object, within reason. Looking for thoughts on the famous ones as well as any lesser known gems. TIA. Ritz Carlton leading the pack so far but I'm willing to have my mind changed, especially by a boutique hotel. TIA

Was just there this last week, Ritz has some construction going on outside the building right now. Not sure of your dates, but just FYI

I like the Giraffe and James Nomad mostly based on location. There’s prob 25 or more great hotels in NYC. Figure out the area you want to be and go from there. More important than the hotel, make sure to go to Rubirosa and get a Vodka pie and a Supreme.

This won't get you as far as you think.

This. And as said location to what you want and the actual room location should be kept in mind.

A room with a good view and location in a lesser hotel would be a preference of mine over a better hotel with a lesser room.

Stayed @ The Ritz in 2019...close to everything. Fantastic/Prompt service. Great bar. Concierge can get you into ANY sold out reservation just because it is the Ritz.
