So nice to have a coach that sounds intelligent.
Sounded like as we know that LSU has lost some guys up here to Alabama and Texas over the years. TCU has a former Neville coach that basically lives in the Monroe area.

When did we stop recruiting north Louisiana?

Probably because O didn’t know anything existed above Nachitoches.

No reason to not already have a presence up there

Coach O held plenty of camps in North Louisiana and definitely recruited all of Louisiana. TCU is a non-factor against LSU. The players their taking would've ended up at Louisiana Tech, ULM or ULL. Kavonte Turpin for example was going to Louisiana Tech until TCU came in at the last moment and signed him. He was never going to LSU.

TCU can’t compete with LSU. If you said A&M or UT has a former Neville coach that lives in the Monroe area, then we’d be concerned. Guys end up at TCU if LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Bama don’t want them.

Exactly. TCU is hurting Louisiana Tech, ULM and ULL; not LSU. As far as losing players to Alabama, there's not much you can do about that until you start consistently beating them or Saban retires.

Good. The amount of talent that goes to LSU and elsewhere is unreal.

The only Big12 teams that pose a threat on stealing a recruit from LSU is OU and UT. That’s soon to be SEC also. It’s just another level of ball when you’re talking SEC big6 blue blood types vs regional brands such as TCU or OK State.
Another reason we miss on some Instate kids is due to us recruiting more nationally. Georgia has this issue also. You want to build pipelines in states like CA and FL so that might mean missing a 3 star from Monroe from time to time.

my only question is WTF ever thought it was a good idea to limit recruiting to any distance? they should be looking at every town in louisiana for prospects.
go to fricking michigan if need be. yes you might have limited resources to travel, but the internet is free and you can do country wide recruiting to select where to put those resources into personal visits

LSU has never not recruited NLA hard
Posted on 7/18/22 at 12:44 pm to GentleJackJones
Kelley is well aware that Tackett Curtis was heavily recruited by Big 10 folks, ND and USC while O was recruiting blondes. And Kelly knows ND pulled Jerry Tillery out of Shreveport and that Brandon Harris is working NW La. for Texas. A&M has always worked that area.

hey, nitwit, Brandon Harris works for the Longhorns

There are 2 sophomore CBs (1 in Shreveport 1 in Bossier) that MSU and TCU are all over, LSU hasnt talked to them.
The former Neville coach at TCU works the shite out of N LA.

then why is it the headline that LSU is extending recruiting to North Louisiana.

Yes, he works for Texas. Which is what my post says.

Neville has a guy within their athletic program that’s all about some Bama/Nick Saban and steers those kids that way regardless of how much he denies it.
Posted on 7/18/22 at 1:28 pm to DeafVallyBatnR
I'm assuming that's part of Joe Sloan's job.

The former Neville OC who coached Diarse is on staff at TCU, the old boy is from Cottonport and was a big Tiger fan back in the day
