This was Kelly's first conference media day since 2009 (before Notre Dame).
Calls the move "The right time and the right place."
He plans on "restoring championship quality football to LSU."
"The offensive line is clearly an area we need to keep our eye on. I think we have added some really good transfers, and have some young men we have developed."
On NIL, "What we are doing relative to NIL is as competitive as anybody else. I don't feel like we are being outbid by anybody ... I don't think that's the place of NIL anyways. I don't feel hamstrung by that."
On QB and team leaders, trust: "Miles is one of our best leaders."
On being a great fit for LSU, "I think fit is about the ability to run a program at the highest level. . . and developing players. I don't think that needs to be geographical. . . . I love where I am in Baton Rouge, they love people, family and food and that fits me. The south is where I probably should have been all along."
On facing FSU in the opener: "They lost some really good players. We are relying on a lot of [prior] film and player evals. They lost their [OC]. They have a lot of new players, it's an opener. Everyone will be playing at their highest level in their opener."
Best food in LA "Crawfish etouffee. I don't know how you top that."
On conference realignment: "Musical chairs. And the music is going to stop and there's not going to be enough seats at the table for everybody."
Is team physically ready for what you want them to do? "GPS numbers show a fitness that will have us prepared for [FSU]." "We're healty, and our kids feel as good as they have ever felt."
On QB sitch, "We're really going to have to set the offense and structure to the skillset of the players/playmakers." "They've got to make plays at QB. We'll have to put them in that situation to be able to evaluate that."
On Brad Davis being the only former assistant retained, "had a chance to see him in a leadership capacity [as interim HC] and saw he really reaches the players. Also, he worked for Sam--one of the best OC coaches."

Is it just me or does he seem nervous?
He’s not as fluid during this conference as he’s been during other interviews

BK knows and understands this team needs to improve along the offensive line.

Media clown asking about bidding for players

I’ve been wanting to make a trip to the college football hall of fame.

Seems that way a bit, but it's a huge room and they get to ask questions.

Guilbeau is so bad. You get one question and you ask about notre dame joining a conference

Cringe questions out this morning
Posted on 7/18/22 at 11:52 am to Captain Crown
Look at what they put under his name….
Elite TikTok dancer
Southern accent expert.
Who’s putting this out? Very unprofessional. I get making a joke but during media days? Give me a break.

Guilbeau is such a clown. Thats the friggin question you come up with?
And how sad and pathetic that under Brian Kellys name at one point they put Southern Accent Expert.

SEC Network is fricking cringe worthy. They actually put a graphic under Brian Kellys name that said “Southern Accent Expert”. Maybe they will put a quote under Saban that says “cheats on wife”? Or Jimbo Fisher - “Lies a lot”.
fricking assholes. So unnecessary.

Exactly what I was thinking.

These media guys are douches.

I hate that backdrop. I wish they'd update it.

Stupid arse question “in your best southern accident, what’s your favorite food?”. Where do these clowns come from

I hope this fires him up to make a statement this year. Just rub it in their faces. He’s handling it well but these journalists are hacks.

Saban should say born on Halloween, many think is the devil
Posted on 7/18/22 at 12:02 pm to crossfire
Social media has ruined journalism and the questions they ask. It’s a high school unprofessional show now. It’s all about attention now and not college football
