I had a police officer stop me today for the 4th time to flirt with me. He conveniently wasn’t wearing a wedding ring and only admitted to being married when I asked. Some of these cops are trash.

They got rid of a good Police Chief solely because he was white. This administration ran on this platform and won. That's scary. Baton Rouge is lost

Seriously though, they have managed to turn what was a pretty damn good police department (despite the OT) into a farce. In just a few years. Pretty impressive actually.

I’m not impressed nor surprised.

What’s the big deal? St George has plenty of money to pay BR cops.

the lawyer for BRPD Deelee Morris said I’m a freelance reporter so I’m regarded as another member of the general public unless otherwise designated by the chief of police. As of yet, the chief has not designated me as media.

This is a disturbing twist for journalists out there.

Idk man, they were pretty bad during the 2009-2016 ish years. They were predatory with DWI’s and treated it like a huge racket, only targeting wealthy areas of town and LSU. Not only did the black community dislike them but a lot of south BR was tired of their antics as well.

Checkpoints after lsu games, pulling ppl over outside of Ruth Chrises after dinner, etc. I feel like almost everyone I knew had gotten one.

Were they not drinking and driving? I guess I’m not understanding what you are getting at. Did you have a problem with that time period of BRPD because they enforced the dui laws?

Sitting outside the bulldog on pint night. Police told us they do it because it's post college white guys. They cooperate, they go to court, and they pay their fines.

When’s the last time you saw a checkpoint in North BR?

There’s a huge difference between pulling over someone who’s clearly drunk vs setting up a checkpoint outside of Sullivan’s to catch Jody and Sally after splitting a bottle of whine during their anniversary dinner.
