Because Trump is also a stand up comedian and entertainer. There are probably thousands of people at that rally who don’t specifically love Trump, but they know it’s going to be a good time, hilarious, and they’ll be around good people. If Trump ever rallies anywhere near where I live, I’ll go to the rally for the fun of it. Doesn’t mean I’ll vote for him over DeSantis though.

They have echo-chambered themselves into being convinced that there aren't still a significant amount of people that do not like Trump. I know a LOT of people who voted for him in 2020 while holding their tongues.
Desantis is Trump without the baggage. If Trump's cultists actually care about the country, they'll support Desantis if he were to win the nomination. But I can absolutely see a number of them choosing to bitch about it at home on election day than voting.
