Perhaps. But it seems to me once you’ve accepted the concepts of bike lanes, stops signs, and keeping to the right unless you’re passing, you’ve pretty much conceded loss of freedom of how you want to travel.

You’re free to travel on the interstate that has an HOV lane. The HOV lane isn’t preventing you from driving on that interstate.

I don’t support a lot of regulations most people accept. For instance speed limits, emissions tests, inspection stickers. As for those you listed:
1. A car couldn’t fit in a bike lane anyway, so it’s a good use of the space.
2. Shouldn’t have to stop if it’s an empty intersection
3. Hardly anyone observes this one already

In the eyes of the law, you are just wrong though. She's not going to win that arguement, I'm just letting you know

Where does the law say another seat must be occupied?

What does passenger mean?

We are so damn overregulated, and we pay for it. The cost of regulation is higher than 20%.
She's pregnant, let her use the car pool lane and handicap spots.

She will absolutely not have to pay that ticket

You may be right, but it won't be on the merits of her arguement on the definition of a person.

Fwiw I think Hov lanes & hov parking spots are stupid
When we go to places and park in a hov spot - how is that ‘green’ -it’s just the kids and I
