2010: TJ Jones, 87th overall, 10th WR
2011: DaVaris Daniels, 93, 13
2012: Justin Ferguson, 356, 35
2013: Torii Hunter Jr., 208, 28
2014: Justin Brent, 94, 15
2015: Equanimeous St. Brown, 162, 18
2016: Javon McKinley, 114, 18
2017: Jafar Armstrong, 472, 69
2018: Kevin Austin, 82, 14
2019: Cam Hart, 644, 81
2020: Jordan Johnson, 37, 6
2021: Deion Colzie, 102, 16
Jalen Brown is already far and away the top WR he’s recruited and Shelton Sampson is right there also.
THIS is why he came to LSU.

That’s right. None of those guys are household names either, except maybe St. Brown.
His best WRs were lesser rated but highly developed.
You develop Chase Claypool(13th ranked WR) and you have a very good college WR. You develop Brown and Sampson you have all Americans. THATS the difference.

Now do tight ends and where they ended up. Those guys should be lining up to play for him.

Chas claypool in 2016 was good but just realized he was 172 nationally 33 WR that year

And this guy (his highest rated) transferred to UCF. That list just shows you how much WR talent comes here.

Ok they may but why not pick what many think are the riper of the fruit?

You’re 100% right and the $$$ was a nice bonus for him too.

We’ve had five extraordinary receivers at LSU the last 10 years.
5* Jarvis Landry
4* JaMaar Chase
4* Odell Beckham
2* Justin Jefferson
5* Kayshon Boutte
And those 2 four stars were highly ranked four stars. I don’t view the rankings as the be all and end all, but over a class of 25, it’s important.

Does Terrace not belong in that group?
Posted on 7/8/22 at 11:02 pm to ATLTiger
He should. Terrace Marshall was a 5 star & 13th overall player in the country for the 2018 class.

Def.
Will break out in the nfl eventually.

Pennie,
Observation 1, Recruit the boot. There are 10 guys each year in state that are talented enough to play WR in the SEC.
Observation 2, Beckham-Chase-Jefferson re-ranked are top 10 players in their whole class.
Les Miles wanted Chase as a CB and he was committed to Kansas for a minute.
Jefferson basically had no high D1 offers
Beckham was WR20 nationally & shite, he was LA9 in-state alone.
My point is not every guy has to be 1.1
Trust the evals despite what the stars say. Because there are a ton of WRs with the proliferation of the spread & 7 v 7.
