My great uncle just passed away and of course some old stories are resurfacing. He is from Estherwood, La and there are a few good stories about a bar or restaurant named Lou Lou’s. He was born in the late 1920s and the stories probably happened in the late 30s, early 40s. Of course my spelling may be completely wrong, but does this ring a bell for anyone?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

you're probably going to have to put your boots on the ground for this one, make an add on craigslist. Make a documentary about it.

The Village of Estherwood .... that thriving metropolis has a Post Office, a Dollar General, and an airport. My neighbor in college (1990) was Broussard from E-wood.

There was definable a Lu Lu’s bar and restaurant in Gueydan, not far from Estherwood. It was a happening place back in the day. Closed in the 70’s I think.

There was some bar around Midland in the 90's that was open on Sunday's. A Red Rose alternative. Can't remember the name.

I'll be rolling through Esterwood in about an hour. I'll stop and ask around.

I grew up in Gueydan and there’s a FB group for current and past residents. It has a decent amount of posts and pics from years past.
