Makes perfect sense, the Left is neocons and dirty hippies now.

Why should we get along? Our lives don’t meld due to different ideas of how to govern a country. Their shitty decisions directly affect my life.

Tolerate sure but the same people I don’t like probably detest me and wish I was dead. They can frick right off.

Tell you what. When they stop stealing from my paycheck, I'll agree with you. Until then, my opinion counts as much as your fake vote.

Didn't Biden steal the election anyway? So what's the point in voting?

I literally never talk politics IRL. If someone brings it up I change the subject. If they won't let it go I back out of the conversation. There are people in my immediate family whom I don't know for sure how they vote and they damn sure don't know how I vote.

It used to be impolite to talk about such things. Now people won't leave it alone.

Life Protip: Your hot takes are not going to convert anybody, and they're not going to convert you. All you're doing is circlejerking among the like-minded. If that's what you want to do, knock yourself out. Just leave the rest of us out of it.

Solid advice. I never discuss specific issues at all with people. There is just absolutely no upside these days.

Well he has say right now, just as much as you do. “You can’t speak on blank if you’re not blank” is bullshite that you would disagree with in different context. Someone who doesn’t vote has a say as much as someone who does.

I never take that seriously.

The people that scream "if you don't vote, you don't get to have an opinion" are usually the same ones now screaming "Biden stole the election; it was rigged."

The cognitive dissonance is pretty amusing.

No one hates Joe Burrow. We just understand that he’s just your typical brainwashed, public school educated, ignorant kid.

Every single leftist is a POS. Even if they are family, they should not be associated with.

Actually you don’t. Your “say” is voting. If you don’t vote you have no “say”. You will just live under someone else’s “say”.

Why don't one of you go along to get along liberals tell us who labeled supporters of her opposition "deplorables"? If you voted for that bitch, then you wanted the divide we currently have. GFY and DIAF.

I refuse to watch them. I only watch unbiased news like MSNPC, ABCLGTBTQ+-=X, Can’t Beat Socialism (CBS), and only read WAPO, Vox, HuffPo, DU, Reddit, ESPN, NYT, SFChronicle, & the SadVocate.

Joe got horrible advice from his agent, or someone.

Abortion is an issue where there is no middle. It is completely polarizing. If you take either position, you automatically get 50% negative reaction.

I see people turn on family, friends, athletes, and entertainers over politics.

Nah, I completely disagree. For decades I continued to spend money with organizations (entertainment or companies) that would occasionally pop off politically in a way I disagreed with. I took what I thought was the high road and ignored it for my own ability to enjoy whatever it was they were selling to me.

This emboldened them.

Now, they ALL do it nonstop...and I'm told that I have to leave my politics or viewpoints at the door and continue to spend money with them. In this scenario, one of us has the ability to speak their mind while the other has to shut the frick up. Why must I shut up AND pay the people telling me they hate me AND that I don't have a right to respond?

I'm done with that.

I didn't start this, but I'll end it. Entertainers have fricked up and forgotten they create products that are just WANTS and not NEEDS. It's super easy to just say, "frick it" and walk away from all of that stuff. When you do, you free up tons of time which is great and you save some money that you can decide to spend elsewhere...maybe even with people that don't hate you!

As for family and friends, kind of the same thing. I have no interest in talking religion or politics with either...unless that's already our thing. If it isn't, and you bring it up, I'll likely let it go for a while until you cross a line and go too far and then I'll enter the chat and I'll be blunt. If you cry because I got harsh, remember who started it.

live in a conservative echo chamber

One of my favorite phrases.

We live at a time when nearly ALL sports media and athletes, ALL Education, ALL Entertainment, All news media and ALL social media leans hard left...but the REAL CONCERN is those small pockets that do not reflect this and are seen as "conservative echo chambers."

The entire country is a left wing echo chamber (did you just forget Pride Month?) and the concern is right wing versions?

This place, the PoliBoard, is like a tiny island in a sea of leftism...and even THIS is too much.

That’s not what he was saying, he was saying that someone that doesn’t vote doesn’t have the right to speak on a given issue. Intentionally misunderstanding someone is a bad look.
