How many years do you think Durant has left at an elite level?

I say maybe one. And I doubt it’s for more than 50 games.
How many times do teams need to get burned going for big names last their prime before they catch on?
Unless Durant starts juicing with Tom Brady he’s on a fast track to falling off a cliff.
He looked old in the playoffs. He’s not getting younger or better.
Every season from here to when he retires he will be worse and each year the decline will accelerate.
Give me a list of superstar players aged 34 and up who have gone to a new team and led them anywhere?
This would be Steve Nash, Gary Payton and Malone to the Lakers or Shaq to Phoenix.
It won’t work.
Trading a young stud for this dude would set the franchise back a decade and ruin everything they’ve built.
ESPN and Walmart fans would love it though

at least 4-5
but it’s not even about that. He’s a douchebag. I don’t want him on my team.

I would say 3, barring some crazy career ending injury.
I don’t want to trade for him though.

First team all nba level for 3+ years. Compare his stats to someone like Tatum and Ingram and you see he has a long ways to drop off before reaching where those guys are. And the chances of them reaching where he is now is very low. He will always be able to get his shot off.

I think he will still be an elite 3/small 4 for at least 3 more years.
The real question is how long will he be better than Ingram?

It's rare after 34.
MJ, Malone, KAJ, Duncan, LeBron,
Kidd, Rodman and others ?
KD already had achilles injury...He will stay a superstar until 34 or 35 (maybe)

2-3 because his game isn’t based on athleticism
But Ingram has 12
But Ingram has 12

I’m with you that I am not interested in adding Durant to our team. But he’s got more than a year left in him, unless he has a really bad injury. He’s just a drama queen, and not the right type of attitude or locker room presents that we want on this team. We have built, or are trying to build a certain type of culture and you can see where it’s going. He would totally displace all of that. It’s not as much about the gas left in the tank to me as much as it is the damage he could do to what we are building in our locker room

I’m less worried about his durability than him destroying our family culture and brotherhood that has developed last season. I don’t want him on the Pelicans at all.

Durant had basically one of his best statistical seasons this past year, but he’s kind of doing what Lebron started to do a few years ago. He’s focusing solely on offense and takes plays off. His defense dropped off a lot the past 2 years

Durant isn’t a leader. If you swap BI for Durant, we won’t win a ship. Durant is a beta bitch and we’ll win a lot of regular season games, then lose in 2nd round of playoffs. If we’re trading for an elite player, we need that player to be an alpha

Elite top 5-10 player? Probably 2-3 years barring injury.
Top 25 or so? Probably got 5 years or so minimum. People forget Durant was a capable weak side defender in Golden State too. Even as his athleticism declines, he’ll get his shot. Once it declines, he’ll move into more of a PF role on defense. Cover close outs but his main priority will be weak side defensive help. And against the majority of 4s and even 5s, that’ll be enough to get by.
Durant sometime around 2012 started to model his game more after Dirk Nowitzsky, Ben stealing his one legged fade away. In large part because of how effective it was even without elite athleticism. Durant was/is a freak specimen and with modern training, he should be a walking bucket up until he’s 40 at the very minimum.
