I should have clarified, by schools with money, I meant schools with rich alumni.
I think Miami, A&M, and Texas will always dish it out regardless of results.
And let’s be honest, if you can keep buying top tier talent, the results are going to come.

They can't..
I don't believe the ~10 million rumor, but yeah, we can't. I'm not worried about Miami money long term, but they're in a boosters open pocket books perfect storm atm. They got the AD that turned Clemson into a dynasty, poached an "unpoachable" coach, found themselves in a recruiting environment where paying more than the other guys plays a major role, and have 20 years of blue balls over their administration not caring about athletics. If Miami loses a contested recruiting battle for somebody near the top of their internal list in the near future, it's not because the other team offered more NIL money.
And sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think the numbers being floated are even overpriced. Joe Burrow is probably worth at least $20 million to a school. At ~9 million for 3 years, a 5 star/high 4 star QB being a bust is pretty much priced in. Don't be surprised if we see more big number NIL deals and lowered coaching salaries across the board.

LSU has plenty of rich boosters though. That's not the issue, the issue is LSU can't compete with NIL offers right now. There's more opportunity for a player to make more on his likeness in near South Beach, Miami than Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In other words, LSU can bid higher but they can take a lower offer because the potential is higher in NIL. That's what they can sell that LSU can't. There's no national market for a small market team. Play in big market or small market? Hmm who do I think I can make more money with? The choice is obvious plus the other benefits playing in a nice area.

Not as many as you think. You believe players can make more on likeness in college station than BR?
LSU doesn't have the boosters these other schools do

LSU can rake collective together. They're dominating in baseball right now are you oblivious to it? No, they don't have boosters like some of the biggest schools but they're still well off from the revenue they generate in the athletic department to a good bit of rich boosters when compared to most other schools.
LSU is pooling money in basketball/baseball just fine. Do you think they're going to lay down and die for football which is all their profit? Maybe just maybe LSU is pushing competitive offers on the table these universities are just putting together additional packages LSU can't compete with. Opportunity on money is probably just as important as the money bag dropped on their lap. It's harder to sell in the most competitive sport while LSU can just jostle anyone aside in baseball in a less competitive sport.
If they turn into a star athlete what do you think that means for them in future sponsorship? Do you think that's better in Baton Rouge, Louisiana or Los Angeles, California? Hard to go against that other than just drop more money which is already ridiculous. Let it settle, there will be plenty of big time recruits LSU can buy by the end of the class. They can't get everyone. NCAA really fricked up not only NIL/transfer portal but the scholarship restrictions. Going to be painful for awhile.

Or for one company to pay market value for what they believe a commodity (player) is worth in an open and free market. Otherwise known as capitalism.
There are also laws in place to allow for competition in the market.

There needs to be a solid cap with enforcement to bring college football back to where it needs to be. I agree with paying the players, but it should come with caps and restrictions
bullshite. These players are worth whatever someone wants to give them. It’ll work itself out.
People on this board are mostly a bunch of jackasses who don’t like change and are worried LSU might not be able to hang with the big money schools to keep competing.
If anything, the NIL will spread talent out more and LSU is still a brand name kids will want to represent.

I remember in the 70s some LSU players had, and was paid for jobs that were either deadhead (staring at a valve) or they didn't show up at all and still got paid. But it wasn't for crazy amounts of $$$. Coach Kelly will have to pick and choose who he is willing to offer a deal to. Basically draft picks. Ohio State is paying $13m to keep it's current roster together. We need some kind of plan going forward. Fornette said he could have made $10m if they had NIL in his time here.

Agree and I also think there are more incentives in these contracts than people are talking about,

9.6 mil NIL deal for a high school QB recruit (Rashada) will get everybodys attention not surprising shits getting out of control
It’s way too high but that’s because it was completely fabricated (as was the reported $11m he supposedly turned down from UF). We’re fishing but We ain’t dishing that much. Lol. The deal was reportedly closer to the $4.5-5m range.
Anyway, back to brown…you guys are really making a push but I think he’s a cane at the end of the day. Buddies with rashada and has been around the program way too much to not commit.

If the kid goes to Miami, I hope he’s a part of a very long winning streak against Dabo’s lame arse

The kids are not making money on their likeness. They are flat out getting paid, this has nothing to do with small/big markets.

Yep, just wait till.miami falls on its arse and has spent 20 mil on NIL

You are partially right....maybe not as many, but still plenty enough. LSU has 14 prominent boosters with net values of over 500 million. LSU also has 2 prominent boosters with a net value of over 2 billion each....
Who you think pays the buyouts and new coaching salaries?
LSU has plenty of $$$ to compete. Quit being a negative puss all the time

Wow Miami is getting projections to flip all sorts of blue chip recruits and got predictions for Okunlola recently. They’re firing from the hip. Hope that means these offers are money they had allocated for Brown. Canes are rollin in it
