Don't they have to be in the portal by a certain date? I see it as him leaving his options open.
What if we we get more pitcher transfers and fewer guys get drafted than we expect?
He's supposed to just sit at the end of the bench instead positioning himself to go elsewhere if necessary?

If he was facing a portal deadline, and he is looking for the right pitching coach, then it makes perfect sense. Players don’t have your best interests in mind; they have their own.

some of them, yes. Our bullpen was not bad this year. I would be pretty bummed to see Grant Taylor, Dutton, Bryce Collins, Ty Floyd, Lansville, Gervase, and Coleman go. Hell even Money has potential as a bullpen guy. All of those guys have the ability to contribute successfully.

Assuming he figures it back out you don't want to lose a lefty like that. I would assume he went in the portal because of the 7/1 deadline.

I'm very indifferent with Hasty. I would like him back but I also won't be upset if he's not. Plenty of LHP reinforcements on the way. I would really like to see him revisit his entire windup. Might help with control

Hasty seems like a really good clubhouse guy and teammate.
He also has incredibly nasty stuff if he could ever harness it.
I'd like to see him stick around because I'd like to see his hard work pay off in an LSU uniform, but I understand it if he moves on.
