Tesla on order and supposed to deliver within the next month or two. I am curious if anyone who has taken delivery in Louisiana has used Tesla financing? Did you have a good experience with it or would you suggest another bank or credit union for your financing?

If anyone has recently taken delivery of a Tesla in Louisiana, do you have any other pointers or things to do/know?

Thanks in advance!!

You should just pay cash for it with all the money you’ll be saving in gas.

I got my own financing for the first and then used tesla for the second. Using tesla was a breeze and the rate was as low as I would have gotten elsewhere

Make sure to save $200/m on top of your car note for the battery replacement.

How long do the batteries typically last, and what’s the replacement cost?

$200/month would be half my monthly gas bill these days.

Between 300k-500k miles. Warranties are like 8 years or 100k-120k miles.

Meh - I don't have real world experience with EVs at this point, but if I understand correctly, maintenance drops to nothing except tires and batteries. Certainly only minor stuff outside that.

Maybe I'm wrong. Yeah, a big bill when the batteries die will be a shock, but they're getting better every month.

Correct - maintenance on a Tesla is typically less than that of a comparably priced ICE car because there are simply less moving parts to take care of.

If you’re getting a new Tesla, you can feel pretty assured the battery will last 200K+ Miles.

Like most negative comments about Teslas on TD, it’s lazy and inaccurate.

Most respites of Tesla battery life exceed 200,000 miles. Battery warranty is typically 8 years or 100,000 miles. And to utilize the warranty the battery capacity needs to fall below 70% of original capacity. On average it will lose 10-11% by 100,000 miles. This is just how batteries work over life cycles

So if u get a range today if 300 miles. 10 years from now it will be about 270 miles.

Batteries are failing after 10-15 years, and are between 10k and 20k to replace.

Don’t finance a car.

Buy only what you can pay cash for.

In another 10-15 years I’m certain the technology will have improved substantially. And those prices are for Tesla batteries, not after market options.

I 100% agree with you, but he's not buying a car in 10 or 15 years. He's buying one now.

I know, I’m using that reference for when it comes time to replace the batteries, if he still wants to keep that vehicle

Such a terrible idea to stay out of debt. I know.

Keep paying that interest bud. The banks appreciate it.
