All of the other sports have team owners that make large sums of money, right? The tour is a non-profit.

Yes

Yes

My only point was the pga does pay out a large % of revenue to its players, larger than other other leagues

Now a fair counterpoint would be the players cover their own travel and training costs in golf, while it’s covered for them in other aports(at least during the season)

I agree with you that the tour is in a tough spot. You have made some good points these last few days. I am still baffled by the commissioners actions, though. I understand he is in a tough spot, but this new league wasn’t a surprise.

The other thing tour players face is relegation. That’s tough. If you don’t make a million you lose your card. Go to lorn ferry and hope to make a couple hundred. While paying expenses. It’s a grind for guys in the 100-200 ranking level.

Right. The NBA said stuff that made you feel bad about yourself so their China money is bad.

No, they protested against things allegedly happening in this country while ignoring those exact things actually occurring in China.

The announced Tour revenues for 2020 were $1.5 billion, as a non-profit secure from a majority of federal taxes.

Some players want the books opened to see where the money is coming from and where it's going.

Why would the tour be against this?

I imagine when the anti-trust lawsuits begin, the LIV attorney's will be asking that very question.

No they didn’t. You’re pretending that they did because what they said made you uncomfortable.

What? Who is uncomfortable? The Chinese government is doing things that should make you sick. Yet the NBA players protested the US government. What is the solution the NBA wants to the atrocities of the US government? More US government. Brilliant.

Both sides will tell you it's not about the money.

It's about the money.

Its winnings and PIP

Well, your man didn’t tell you much, because you didn’t beleive the players came close to making 270 million earlier, when they actually make 800 million

Look, let’s say they take that 800 million in winnings and make it salary. Fantastic. Players now get paid a guaranteed salary that makes up 55% of the revenue

Guess what, that would still amount to a fraction of what the Saudis are paying them……There is nothing the PGa can do to even come close to matching the Saudi money

frick it. Let’s say the PGA gave the players all of the 1.5 billion in revenue to guaranteed salary. 100% of it. Obviously impossible, but let’s do it for fun

That’s an average of 15 million per player in the top 100. So obviously the top guys would get more and bottom guys less, but still.

The ducking Saudis are giving guys 100 million plus, and dudes like Na 30 million

So stop pretending the players actually cared and thought the PGA could do anything

Percentage of revenue that goes to players

PGA= 55%
MLB = 54%
NBA = 50%
NHL = 50%
NFL = 48%

I’d be curious to see what the PGA uses their 45% on. In the other leagues, that percentage is split by 30 owners who then use it to pay an entire organization built up around the players.

What is the real overhead for the PGA?
