Tigers claimed their first CWS Championship.
I remember my dad turning on CBS and saying "tigers are playing for the national title today." Great memories.

That was about the time I started to understand college baseball and that “8 teams” made the World Series. In the late 80’s I was thinking the Tigers were the damn Yankees being in the World Series every year. I moved to Louisiana in 86’ so wasn’t familiar with the popularity of game so that’s my disclaimer and being really young.

Ogea, Rick Greene, Johnny Tellechia, Tookie, Rich Cordani, Lyle Mouton, Gary Hymel, Armando Rios. Fun team.

I watched it with my grandad and dad.

Got all of those, too. Mom's boss was a diehard and would drive up to campus from Metairie on the Monday morning and buy shirts and caps for anyone who wanted them.

Who was that CF that no one thought would get drafted that ended up in the bigs for a few years? With the Giants, I think.

My dad told Armando that he would hit a grand slam to win the game at Tulane and low and behold he did.

He pointed at us rounding second and gave me some gear after the game. The black easton wrist / arm bands were legit.

I have a (different) 1991 National champions shirt I bought at JCPenny’s when I was 5.

I actually wore it at the SECt in hoover this year.

Made in the USA and still holds up.
