I know it's expensive compared to others ($250 now, $200 when I bought it), but I have had a Shibumi now for 3 years and one of my better investments.

Takes just a few minutes to put up and keeps my pasty white self protected when the boss (aka wife) wants to be on the beach all day. Also, comes with a great little carrying kit.

These are very popular on the Carolina coast. I don’t own one yet but I will. They literally take less than a minute to set up. The ocean wind always keeps it flying. I’ve never seen one lay flat or take off. You can accommodate a lot of people under one.
Shade Sail

Edit: Poster before me beat me to it!

Cool cabana… hands down best I’ve had. I can put it up by myself in under 5 min. Only has one center stake and the corners/legs are held down by sand. Has survived 6-7 years, not one rip, never blown away

Inexpensive, theyve lasted me over ten years, easy to carry, setup and adjust and I;m not trying to be a dickbag to claim 100+ sqft of beach

I pair two of them and use anchors on them both, never lost an umrella.

Another vote for Shibumi. They make a slightly smaller one for 190 That provides shade for 3 people and gear. I live at the beach and use it 3 times a week. Very well made with marine grade stainless connectors and snaps. One of my best investments ever.

Uline or Eurmax are the most durable tents.

Most nice beaches have rules on tents and how far they have to be from everyone else. Just get a wind proof umbrella.
