That is completely wrong.

I use RSS and am always seeding around 10-15 items. With RSS I dont have any need to visit the site and I still get the reminder email every 2 to 3 weeks. So I just have to go to the site and that is it. But it does not matter if you are seeding. They require actual visits.

I have had this issue with folks I have invited and they got booted because of it. It resulted in my invites being wasted and a knock on me.

Ignore it at your own peril.

ive not logged into IPT for a month or 2 and as long as uTorrent is running I never get any emails.

So why wouldn't I seed my movies I already have and let that build for a while? Is there some kind of disadvantage to that? Maybe there is something I'm not getting.

because that's alot of trouble for nothing. there are already a billion versions of every movie out there encoded in much better quality than you have.

y'all are making this way too hard. you literally have to do NOTHING to get your ratio up on IPT.

I think it's 3 months of inactivity before removal. They send 2 week warnings.

But I seed 24/7 and I'll still get warned after the 2 month point that my account will be deactivited

They dont let you do that. Anything you host that didnt come from them doesnt count to your ratio...

Because good torrent sites curate their stuff from quality sources. Every one of the 100 movies you have already exists there, in a variety of qualities and formats that are listed out. Why waste time letting some guy re-upload random files? Just seed the existing stuff that's already been vetted.

Gotcha. I just didn’t know if it would be easier to give access to what I already had instead of downloading. No big deal, I was just curious.

So you just have to know someone to give you an invite?

clarification:

you can upload your own torrents for stuff that's not already on the site but the rules are pretty strict about proper encoding and tagging. also its highly unlikely you have anything thats not already on the site.

Regular members can't upload torrents unless you commit to being an Uploader. You have to fill out an application to get permission to upload, and there are a bunch of requirements, including being an already established member with a good upload ratio and a commitment to weekly uploading.

I've been very hesitant on giving out any of my 3 invites. What happens if you invite someone and they leech too often or go inactive?

First person I sent an invite to was The Egg. That douchebag downloaded one thing and that was it. Nothing happened to my account and everyone I've invited since has done their part.
