A shocker. Ray Liotta, the terrific actor whose career breakout came in the Martin Scorsese crime classic Goodfellas, has died. Deadline hears he died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters. We will have more details when they become available.

He was doing so well with quitting smoking with Chantix, too.

Dang, but he has looked like dog shite the last few years.

I mean, he hasn't exactly been the picture of health the last few years so I'm not sure why it's shocking.
Him as Henry Hill is still one of my all-time favorite gangster roles though.

Just a distant observation but in interviews he had the voice of a guy that sounded gone through more liquor and cigarettes than most. Yet he was still awesome in The Many Saints of Newark.

RIP. I hope he's laughing it up in the after life:

Damn. Was hoping to get him in a Tarantino for a career revival.

Billy Bats was a made guy and he wasn’t. There was nothing he could do.

He was the first choice for Tony Soprano but he didn't want to commit to a TV series.

Yes I agree, I always wondered how they made that look so real.

Sad to hear this.
Field of Dreams (1989)
And then
Goodfellas (1990)
In hindsight, I am sure he was pretty content with his Agent picking projects for him in that year span.

Good actor. Goodfellas is my favorite move to stop and watch when flipping channels.

“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.”

Iguess the smoking commercials got him.
