Lot: people went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building— until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and brimstone rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the hour of My return." -- Jesus Christ, Luke 17:28-30 TLB

Immorality and perversions of all kinds are rampant today...lawlessness everywhere and accelerating rapidly...parents killing children, children killing parents...the legalization of murdering babies in the womb AND outside the womb....having nothing to do with God and His word in our society (California Assembly Bill 2943 will ban the sale of the Bible within its borders)....greed....the mocking of the truth of the return of Jesus Christ (those who mock the idea of Christ's return have no idea that they themselves are fulfilling prophecy of the last days! -- 2 Peter 3:4).

All foretold in God's word, yet people by and large will not listen and take heed to. But, not one will have an excuse on the Day of Judgment that they were not warned to repent of their sin and turn to Jesus Christ by faith and trust in His forgiveness and grace.

Time is short.

Luke 21:16-17
16 But you will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, other relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death, 17 and you will be hated by all people because of My name.

Daniel 12:3

Hey Jet.

Believer here, but assurance of salvation is really tough.

Can’t get beyond some questions.

I understand why the world suffers and groans. I’m well versed in that.

I also understand why God created us. To glorify Him.

However, He didn’t need us and why DID he create this science project that looks like it went awry?

The question goes further, in history, there will have been, for arguments sake, 100 billion ppl.
It’s hard to justify the majority in fiery torment for the glorification of One thing.

This sounds like an unbeliever but I’m just curious. There are some questions that cannot be answered.

read the Holy Bible {King James Version) to find many of the answers. the book of John is a good place to start.

but many other books in the New Testament are also inspiring. speak with a fellow believer and ask questions.

listen to your heart.

God bless.

dstone12....God created man for His own good pleasure and glory. Because He created man in His image it is reasonable to say that, as image-bearers of God, man was created to magnify God throughout all creation, and in all time, by reflecting God’s attributes. Man was created to live and love like God.

It's true that God didn't need us....but again, He did so for His own good pleasure and glory.

As you say, something went "awry" after God created the universe, the angels, the birds and animals, everything that grows upon the earth, and........man. Out of man, He created woman.

But, something went awry. It's called, S-I-N. The very word, "sin", means to "miss the mark". The mark is God's absolute standard of holy perfection in every which way.

When Adam sinned, God could have killed him immediately for his disobedience. Instead, God manifested His amazing and abundant mercy by not killing Adam. Therein lies the answer to our question. Without sin, there would have been no need for mercy.

Sin is disobedience to God. That's what happened in the Garden of Eden. The nature of man became irrevocably fallen and it is responsible for the way the earth and society has gone awry. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." -- Romans 3:23

However, as man has the inability to correct this sin problem on his own, God, in the Person of Jesus Christ, became the Incarnate God-man, in the Holy Spirit's divine birth of the our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born of a Virgin, lived a sinless life, went to the Cross of Calvary to atone for the sins of all those whom the Father has given to Him as an inheritance, He died and was buried and rose again in three days for our justification and.......He's coming back!

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." -- Romans 6:23

So, God created man knowing that he would sin and knowing that He could, and would, pour out His mercy for all creation to behold. By forgiving Adam and clothing his nakedness God’s mercy was demonstrated — a mercy that had never been seen before (remember Satan’s rebellion was judged and condemned, not forgiven). Additionally, God poured out His grace as never before by promising a Rescuer who would redeem man from his sin and restore him to right relationship with his God.

What you're seeing and witnessing in all the horrible tragedies going on in this world is the outpouring and manifestations of man's.......sin!

I struggle with the same types of questions..
Why create something in your image, tell it to not sin, but give it flesh that wants nothing more than to sin? Seems cruel in some aspects.
If Jesus was 100 percent God and 100 percent man how did he not sin?
I've grown content to strive for obedience, repent when I fail, and rest in the fact that I won't have many many answers in this lifetime.
