Different kinds of weed have different effects, and those effects also vary based on personality.

But yeah the op and his references are full of shite. Weed has various effects, but it doesn't "cause psychosis". The idea of it causing psychosis in people with depression or other mental illnesses isn't supported by any legit studies.

Seems like this is an attempt to point fingers at a scapegoat that isn't US gun laws. You can defend American gun culture without making up garbage about weed.

You would be absolutely dumbfounded at the people around you on a daily basis who smoke marijuana. I can assure you that it doesn't "cause psychosis" and that the marijuana-induced psychosis doesn't "cause violence".

If that were the case, we'd see a heap more people snapping.

Cute little study, though.

Marijuana use is known to cause a "psychotic break" in young males that don't know they have a family history of mental illness

You’re right. We should be pushing people to do the legal stuff, like alcohol. It’s never made anyone fight or kill somebody.

I’ve never met a violent pothead

Meth and heavy cocaine use can make people unstable, violent or numb to emotions but not weed

I got cannabis psychosis one time. I ate a bunch of mushrooms that I thought were bunk so I smoked a dooby and then everything kicked in. Was extreme. The couch and the bathroom were equal distance and I could make a decision on what I needed worse a glass of water or to go take a wizz. Freaked me out for like 15 minutes. Then I realized my girlfriend was in the kitchen. I yelled at her Baby I need some water! She kindly brought me a glass of ice cold water and glass of wine merlot. Just what I needed to get me up and going. I then took care of business. Washed my face. Got a little weirded out in the mirror and then chilled out for a bit in my hammock. Then I fell through the hammock cause it was dry rotted. That freaked me out for a bit. Then my girlfriend gave me a hug and we had some shrimp scampi that she cooked for us. It was a good day. The end.

What? Paranoia is a psychotic symptom. People in here and past threads about marijuana have posted it has made them paranoid in the past.

Seriously. I grew up in the Emerald Triangle of NorCal. We've had zero school shootings in 50 years. In my late teens and early 20s, myself and friends were always down for 420. We all held jobs and none of us were psychos. Most of us made something of ourselves. Most of us still partake. So tired of Reefer Madness.

There is probably merit to the negative impact of uncontrolled use of a mind altering substance in mentally ill people, but what do you want? Freedom or control? Bad time to be on the side of control right now, assuming you oppose preemptive suspension of people's rights.

Nah, I really dont have it out for OweO or any posters here.

Besides, anyone who enjoys "Better Call Saul" and posts on the Movie Board knows that Ham is far more insufferable, and I can even carry on a civil conversation.

I attribute this to marijuana. Now, if we all woke up tomorrow and it was all gone and eradicated forever..that would definitely awaken my inner Thanos.

Exactly, marijuana can cause psychosis in someone predisposed to mental illness. But, the that percentage of people is very small.

I know someone who can't smoke pot because they sometimes have hallucinations and paranoia, while I can smoke the same stuff and feel the normal effects.

That's really rich, considering you are deepthroating Berenson again, who has no expertise in anything. At least you've moved on from barely understanding immunology.
