Waterproof vinyl plank flooring - DIY

I'll be replacing the flooring in a portion of my home with waterproof vinyl plank. From what I've seen on youtube it should be a pretty easy process. Those of you who have done this before, is there anything you learned in the process that you wish you knew before?
TIA
TIA

Is it the snap in or the glue to each other kind?

You'll laugh at how concerned you were that you couldn't do it. It's extremely simple and easy. Start left and go right. After you finish the first row, it's easy peasy.

make damn sure the floor is even and CLEAN before you start because that small bump under the floor that you walk over for the next 5 years will slowly drive you insane.

ok. I did the plank where they self stick to each other on the seams. It looked awesome at first and I was very pleased but my house is on piers and I had insulation under it that made the floor sweat and cause damage to my floor joists.
My mom had someone install the snap in at her home. I know the guy she had do it used a portable table saw to make it cuts uniform. It looks really good.

Make sure the edges that snap together are clean of any small debris. It will create a bump where they join. A little paper or anything. Keep a vacuum handy. I used Cali bamboo long boards which are pretty big. Made the process go much faster.

did you glue it down or is it floating?
I think this happened whenever the previous homeowner installed the shitty laminate that I have now. There are a few bumps and they drive me crazy.

Floating. I've since moved from the house but it was a great product.

A level floor is a must. Over time you will fell the undulations of an unlevel floor with vinyl plank. I highly recommend going through the process of starting this job with leveling compound if the foundation or subfloor has any question to it.

Just did the click style. Home Depot product. Only complaint is that the "tongue and groove" edge pieces are very fragile. Be very careful if you have to pull up a piece and reset it. I'm sure a higher quality brand has solved that problemm.
Did it in a bathroom and feels great under the feet.

good to hear. What I currently have doesn't look bad but it feels really cheap underfoot. I guess it was installed without room for expansion as well because sometimes it will flex when you walk on it.

Make good measurements of the area and have a game plan for the plank layout before you get started.

Make SURE your subfloor is clean and level.
Spend 20.00 on installation kit with spacers and block.
Use the block to tap each plank where the planks will lock together.
All in all it is very easy and the job goes quickly.

Make sure to read the instructions. I just recently put some Waterproof vinyl plank in, and because I was installing over concrete, I still had to put down a vapor barrier.

Make sure to ignore certain sections of the instructions. Instructions say to cut the plank score it with a razor blade and break it off. That shite doesn't work use a power tool. I used jigsaw and table saw.
