Harsh punishment is not the answer, they don’t care if they live or die. They are no different than suicide bombers.

More stupid gun laws are not the answer. Bootleg guns are as easy to get as weed. You can literally CNC a complete ar15 in your garage with less than a grand worth of equipment. Imagine the black market for these.

Besides, if he couldn’t get a gun he may well have mowed down a bunch of kids driving a truck. Guns are just one of many means to kill.

Better mental health? Maybe but would better therapy have stopped this guy from shooting?

In my opinion, these things happen where people are unarmed. The ability to shoot back severely hampers these things. That church shooting in Texas was different than this. Why? People shot back.

Israel learned this lesson back in the 70s and 80s. The teachers are trained to defend their children. It works.

Eliminate easy targets aka gun free zones. In most cases, these people are weak people who go after the people who can’t defend themselves. Have security at your schools and churches.

In cases where there is no doubt who committed mass murder, most terroristic shootings, fast track the trial. Death penalty required upon conviction, the whole process should take no more than a couple months.

You could ban guns, but what happens when a guy goes in with illegal guns or a sword? How do you stop a guy running a bunch of people over with a car? Or how do you prevent terrorist style bombings? The problem is the criminal, not the tool they used to commit the crime.

Stop the nonsense of accepting mentally ill people as normal. If someone is weird it’s probably because they have issues. Friends and family should be trying to get them help, not just accepting them for who they are.

As a society there should be movement to limit negative influence on our youth. We shouldn’t expose our kids to violence. We sure shouldn’t let them act it out in realistic simulations, aka video games.

Strive to establish a society in which kids grow up in a two parent home. A society in which spending time with your kids is considered a parent’s number one priority. A person should be looked down upon by society if someone else is raising their kid.

I don’t think any one thing is a fix, but if all these things were done I do think it would have an positive impact on the frequency of these type of events.

I think we have to make the difficult decision to treat schools like the White House. A gate with armed guards and every bag is searched. I fully believe that would severely limit school shootings. It’s expensive and the optics of it aren’t great but if you believe your kids life is more important than it’s something that in my opinion is the best way to protect schools.

The more challenging thing is mass shootings in other places. I think harsher punishments, mental health reform and some aspects of gun reform (specifically around allowing someone that is known to be a threat have a gun).

Schools honestly is pretty easy it’s just a matter of saying screw the cost, we are going to save lives.

However, the one that always haunts me is the Vegas shooting. I just don’t know of anything that can be done to stop that as the guy had literally zero warning signs and no clear motivation. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do nothing though. I do believe mental health is a factor in most of these shootings so I would start there.

Get rid of public indoctrination schools

We could start treating the mentally ill instead of electing them

Hold people accountable for their actions and their actions alone. Stop trying to blame everything and everyone in society except for the evil that actually committed the crime.

Bring back the mafia and let them run the big cities like the early 1900’s. I’m pretty sure they’d take back the streets and neighborhoods in the big cities and the country folks can handle themselves if the riff raft starts moving from cities to rural America

It literally always comes down to parenting.

Stop bringing politics into the household
Teach your kid right from wrong
Raise your kid with morals over ideals
Stop trying to be your kids friend..that's not your fricking job
Stop ignoring obvious red flags
If you see a major red flag, act on it. Your kid is a liability unless you act like a parent and get them help
Stop being a pussy and avoiding confrontation with your shithead teenager when he/she is being a shithead

Kid's don't pop out of the womb killers...stop failing them as parents
