Great news. I don't follow MLS so maybe someone can educate me. Where does Gaga fit in our current goalkeeper usmnt order? What is the probability that he will be the number one at some point in his career?

Say what you will about triple G, but he’s the Nick Saban of dual national recruiting.

If we assume Steffen and Turner are, in no particular order, 1 and 2, then Gaga right now is in a pool with Johnson, Guzan and Horvath for that 3rd spot right now.
Those are the only goalkeepers Gregg has called up since 2021 (not counting Ochoa).
The good news for Gaga is that he is in there as a 17 year old and his crazy talent has allowed him to get recognized at the international level this early.
He's still raw and prone to mistakes, but I think he is the most talented GK in our pool and could be poised to be our number 1 next cycle.

Any chance he actually plays in Qatar?

Gaga is the #1 U21 keeper and will be called up in a week or so for the team that begins work to qualify for the Olympics. He will IMHO be in the mix for 2026.

I think he will very soon overtake Steffen. Between Turner, Horvath, and Gaga if he keeps tracking we are in good hands.

Turner, Steffen and Horvath would all have to be injured.

frick yes! But weird timing considering he wasn't called in

He was definitely the biggest name on the list of dual nationals.
Who else is worth looking out for besides Cowell (seems very unlikely to switch) and Ledezma (also not buying that he would switch)?

Alex Mendez and Jonathan Gomez are the other big ones. I think they both stay with us though.

Thanks, I found my list of players to keep an eye on. We have a bunch of longshots with no real US ties, plus Owen Otasowie and the players you mentioned.
Keeping track of Gregg’s recruitment, he has landed Musah, Dest, Jedi, Weah, CCV, Pepi, and now Slonina and Tillman who are all very coveted players.
Also Pefok and Gioacchini, who are less coveted dual nationals.
He has lost Efrain Alvarez, Jonathan Gonzalez (unsure if that is exactly in his era), Julian Araujo, and David Ochoa.
Ayo Akinola going to Canada is more like us bragging about taking Pefok from France. Also not counting guys like Rubio Rubin switching to Guatemala and Josh Perez and the other Roldan brother playing for El Salvador.
Overall it’s very good but Mexico is certainly focusing on our dual nationals.
Did I miss any other recent successes besides Pepi?

If only they would have snatched up Jonathan David

Alvarez and Gonzalez decided to play for Mexico before Gregg got on the scene. Neither looks like the loss we thought they were. Ochoa has shown himself to be a grade A d-bag. Araujo made the Mexico switch because we have too many good right backs for him to compete with.

Technically, CCV can still choose England.
Also, Jedi and CCV were introduced to the full national team before Gregg. Hell, CCV (among many others who are in the fold now) made his USMNT debut in the first match after we lost to Trinidad
