Gas hit another high this morning…. Feels like the cards are tumbling

Do we get a dead cat bounce today or is it happening?

I think it’s going to be “happening” over the next few months. Not a drop like we saw during Covid but a slow and steady drop.

The drop in sales from Amazon, Walmart, and Target make sense of you think about it.

I’m very blessed to have a great job. Most people out there are now having to make some financial cuts due to the increased costs of fuel and food. (Necessities)

What are some of the higher end luxury items which will be falling in value soon? Boats. ATVs. Camps. Condos.

Dead cats are for Friday to save face through the weekend.

Sit back and enjoy the red.

the only thing i'm buying a little of are the great Div stocks on discount. The big money is now sitting on the sidelines waiting to see how inflation will play out. I can see down more a few thousand and then sideways maybe until the end of the year or Until some good news on inflation front.

Moving averages are turning down quickly, this movement appears to be accelerating and the dead cat bounces aren’t bouncing as high. Long way to go down potentially

I think we're closer to the bottom than others may think.

i hope we are close. i flew early this week into Charlotte, airport and planes were packed.

I think its companies who have to catchup on cutting cost and raising prices and haven't.

It’s the market trying to find it’s floor

Watch volume on up days relative to the down days

If it’s light then I think we have more drops ahead

Preliminary guess was 28ish but this isn’t a normal market correction. Ask again when the VIX hits 50+

I don't see how this is really political. Everything has been injected with cheap money for a decade, ending with 2 insane stimulus packages due to Covid. Hell, we're likely only feeling the Trump money injections or are just starting to feel the Biden one.

There are some minor regulatory moves that can be made, but the fundamentals have been off since the 2009 crash and we've artificially popped up the economy and pretended it was on fire. Let's assume the GOP takes over. What can they do? They can't lower interest rates or else inflation will blow up. They can't enact a debt-spending program for the same reasons.

I know someone in the RV industry (Elkart, IN) and they said a couple of the large manufacturers are shutting down in July and already scaled back to 4 days a week of production. I guess dealers have been canceling orders. Usually the RV industry is the first to see the downturn. We bought a camper in early 2021 for $25k. That same exact unit is on dealer sites for $40k+....that and $4.50 gas, it's not that surprising to hear about canceled orders.

Weakness. Relief rally off the 05/12 short term capitulation low of 3855.00 in the spoos seems to be over. Hopefully another leg down.

I'm anticipating an eventual opportunity to get my kids into the market. Give them a chance to build some wealth.

ETA: I've been in cash (for long term trading) for quite a while...

i think we've got a ways to go. this entire thing is built on the back of the fed. can't safely call a bottom until their positioning changes to "we've done enough"

Yeah. The rally was weak. Mechanical levels. Mostly retail and some short squeezing.
