The below text is from a black male age 57 acquaintance who lives in Austin. We once attended the same church in Raleigh many years ago...

We swap text on news events... I told him the Chaney tweet was unnecessary gaslighting...the kid was mentally ill... he wrote back the below

I just wonder how many feel or think as he does? Its maddening to me...

quote:

I like Cheney. She's a conservative. In the past the Cheyneys aren't known for liberal extremism. Only now due to MAGA fever.

The MAGA right has moved the party so far towards the fringe radicals on the far right, there is no room for anything except total cult- like loyalty and fealty towards Trumpism.

Cheney, when Trump is the "ideal" feels more like RINO, to the MAGA part. Cheyney voted over 95% for GOP policy. Nonetheless, due to MAGA, she's a liberal pariah because she wont lie about the election results and doesn't want insurrections.

The MAGA party has taken over the civil GOP party like gang members. GOP Members that simply voted for improvement to USA's infrastructure received death threats because they "dared" to agree with Biden.

There's so much pressure on the right to be radical and anti-collaborative, how's that position sustainable?

I think I have to severe the "relationship"... way too toxic

This is our country? Or most don't politize a tragedy?

He's just regurgitating talking points that Trump has moved the party to the "far right." Cheney is a stooge of China and the MIC. It's funny how this family was utterly hated just a few years ago.

I disagree with everything he said, but if he’s your friend, I wouldn’t sever the relationship. It’s okay to have different opinions, especially if you can respectfully talk about them. That said, he’s wrong on all counts.

Did you Read the Chaney tweet?

He fully supports it...

Its black and white common sense...

Mentally ill people murdering people and connecting it to Trumpism is toxic thinking

30 years ago, Donald Trump would be a far left democrat.

THIS is why it matters resisting the likes of the Bushes, McCains and Romneys. They've pushed the entire discussion left of center and now former moderates are being labeled "extreme right". It's all fed by the corporate media, but we can fight it by ending this "vote for the lesser evil" crap and demanding better candidates.

Your friend seems like a typical Democrat. They love them some “Never Trumpers.”

Is your friend named Hank by chance?

I wonder, did "Ms" Cheney deem it appropriate to tweet after the several ambushes of cops in the immediate aftermath of the Defund the police blame all police as racists movement of the left? Did she link the wanton ambush and slaughter of policemen with the rhetoric and vitriol of the BLM movement?

Your friend has an opinion. Talk to him about it.

Severing the "relationship" seems like a snowflake response. Not "APEX" at all.

Cheney is a political operative. She says stupid inflammatory things all the time because her power is slipping away. This guy believes she's sincere. While she is toxic, he's just a man on the street with an opinion.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the following things now being “far right”:

-Secure borders.
-Manufacturing jobs back in the US.
-Leveling the trading field with China.
-Making all NATO countries contribute their fair share for common defense.
-Providing more support to historical black colleges than any prior administration.
-Negotiate peace treaties in Middle East.
-Higher labor participation percentages across all ethnic groups.
-Energy independence for first time in decades.

And that’s just a few things off the top of my head.

I guess I must literally be a goose-stepper for actually liking such things.

Your friend lacks cognitive reasoning skills. I would just slowly distance myself.

The old established GOP is what’s helped usher in the far extremist left. I would ask how he feels about the progressive movement coming from the left and what their agenda is actually doing to the American economy right now. Cheney and the rhino’s will not be able to stop what they are doing. In fact, they are partly to blame for it.

Is your friend a Democrat? It's weird how all these democrats now love the Cheneys and Bushs? Right? Is that not a red flag to anyone?

Trump is pretty much Bill Clinton. The left moved and forced the Consevatives to move left with them.
