What kind of "minorities" are they? You don't see a lot of criminal activity from America's East or South Asian populations, do you? There's no roving gangs of Middle Easterners stealing catalytic converters and busting out car windows.

Just because a city has people who aren't white doesn't mean that city is full of criminals. Criminals tend to all come from cultures of chronic generational unemployment, broken homes, poverty, drug addiction, and little education. Such cultures are not determined by skin color.

I’ve traveled to Toronto a few times and arguably the "worst" neighborhood in the entirety of Toronto in terms of evident, abject poverty is located within a ten minute walk of Yonge and Dundas Square.

Certain inner suburban neighborhoods have issues with drug and gang related crime, but you aren't likely to interact with it in the same way you encounter mentally disturbed people shooting up openly downtown.

It's because of maple leaves. The weed kind.
