I cut my yard and neighbors. Both an acre or so
Guys that run landscape, what’s the best trimmer nowadays? Trying upgrade from my old shindaiwa (265) and want to get a high end one to just blow through the yards
When I got the shindaiwa 7-8 years ago, it was used by multiple people and been through a lot to say the least. I Was going to just get the same one but wanted yalls opinion on others before I went
TIA!

About 10 years ago I bought a commercial grade stihl. Aside from some carb kits through out the years its been bulletproof

If you want a more powerful model, Stihl. Just about any of the FS90+ models will be good for what you’re doing.
If you want a very good, high end residential, Echo-225.

Stihl and Echo are the only two brands that have never given me trouble with anything I've purchased from them.

I've owned one for years and love it. FYI, Echo and Shindaiwa are now owned by the same company.

Echo or Stihl. I own both and although I personally prefer the Echo there's not a thing wrong with Stihl.

My 90 stihl is a dam work horse. 10+ years of usage with just 1 service.

I have the echo pas 225 and personally if you want “high end” I’d get more CC’s then 21CC’s. I’d look hard at the Stihl Kombi with the 28 or 30 cc motor. Reason I say those is it’s great to throw on the brush cutter easily a handful of times a year. I also have the blower, if I had one more powerful I’d get a trimmer/ saw and some other stuff.
Either way I’d get a 25+CC for 2 acres. 21 is enough you just have to full throttle the entire time for thicker grass.

Shindaiwa T262 if it’s just grass and not thick stuff like vines, etc. I have a large stihl and a t262. The shindaiwa is more comfortable and just cuts circles around the stihl.

Have had an ECHO PAS model for 8 years and I am not gentle with it. Primary use is weed eating, edger and extension pole saw. Also, primarily use ethanol gas in it. Change spark plug and clean air filter are the only maintenance items done over this time. Zero carb issues

On the rec of this board (outdoor board at the time) I bought an echo and Tru fuel about 4 years ago now. I've put it through hell and have had 0 issues with it. Starts every time.

Is the tru fuel worth it? I always see that stuff everywhere

I dont think so. Been using non-ethanol gas in my Sthl for 10 years and no issues. You can always add you own treatment if you want.

I use an echo pas 225 and have had zero issues. I do use trufuel as no ethanol free gas anywhere near me in PA. If just grass, 225 is enough I feel. If you are getting into brush and tall stuff on 2 acres, I would go bigger.
